As I stated earlier...Olshey would jump at the chance to get him. I wouldn't be surprised if he did...Blake is a great player, just strikes me as an asshole...guess I'm spoiled having a roster of guys I like as Blazers.
That would be now. The last player suspended for steroids was the almost-blazer, Hedo Torkaglu. 20 game suspension.
People balking at trading for Griffin (which I think is a longshot anyway) need to ask themselves, how else is this team going to get a top-ten talent? Free agency? Don't make me laugh. The draft? Well maybe if they had tanked properly, but that aint happening. It's probably gotta be a trade and these kinds of guys are only ever on the block if they've got issues or it looks like they are about to bolt in free agency. Not everybody on the team needs to be a fucking choirboy ... in fact I'd argue this team probably needs a guy with a bit of an edge.
Nic, I agree that we could use someone with an edge. However, Blake is not a bully on the court. He is a bully when he is twice the size and fighting someone with far less athletic ability. I do not think he would stay here past what he is signed for and we would surrender major assets. I would pass unless it was a major fire sale.
To me that guy would be Boogie Cousins...you want edge? He's edge on steroids! I still think George is the guy who puts us over the top.
My new reference point is Enes Kanter, who we offered the max to. Yes, I have some reservations about Griffin, but I have 10x the reservations about Penis Kancer. So, yes, I'm all for getting Griffin.
Griffin cons: Team is doing just as well without him. Stubby arms. Not a great shooter. Not a great defender. The whole punching people thing Gives of kind of a douchey vibe on the court Griffin pros: Has really improved, suggesting he works on his game. Specifically: a much better shooter and is turning into one of the best passing forwards in the game. Not at all a ball-stopper, so would probably work very well in Stott's offense. He also seems pretty smart and kind of funny, actually.
No but Boston is now reported to be willing to offer Brooklyn's Lottery pick if another team is willing to take on David Lee. It's fun having players you like but it's also fun to win....and the Blazers haven't really done that since JR Rider, Rasheed Wallace, Stacey Augmon etc. Rodman helped the Bulls win 3 Titles and Captain Jack was an integral part of the Spurs winning in 2003. Ron Artest helped the Lakers, and Kevin Garnett is widely regarded as one of the biggest jerks in the league and he didn't just help, he was a major part of the Celtics most recent championship Sometimes a little attitude goes a long way. The Blazers have a times been a little too nice...
I have no idea why Boston would do it. A suggestion I saw on CelticsBlog is Lee, two seconds for Connaughton.
I wonder where you saw that... He expires after this year, I don't know why they'd give up a top 5 pick to get rid of him
