Sure they can. They just don't get the opportunity. (more so Bayless) But more importantly, we should adjust our offense when those people are in so that we can switch up the looks and stop being so damn predictable.

Roy ISO's aren't going to win us a championship. We saw that last year. We need a little diversity in our sets.

I would rather have 3 productive people on the floor than 2.

Ya the stats here just seem to be more of a result of the position than it is of Blake's performance or ability.

Blake a threat? shooting a god awful 37% overall and averageish 36% from the 3 - that's simply terrible for a guy who is in there because he is "supposed" to be a good shooter. Bayless is shooting much better from 2 pt land and can take it to the hole.

It's funny that Miller was on that same Denver team. And had a higher win% than Blake(as did Carmelo, just barely). I think AI negatively affected both Carmelo and Blake's win%, actually.
Blake definitely played awful on that Milwaukee team, alongside Michael Redd. Was also one of the worst players on our 05-06 team. And terrible with Washington as well.

Bayless has only shot 6 or 7 3's and is way better than Blake inside the arc, Blake stinks.

I wasnt inferring that they had to shoot three's. That strategy gets us nowhere... Why assume that's all they do, that's why we sucked in the play offs last year...

Once Miller and Bayless get the ball they can drive and create.

The point is, we need more production from a PG, instead of a Roy, Drive and dish to Blake for a low % shot.

All we saw last year is a team in which most of the players had never played in the playoffs before. That is what we saw.

We also saw the need for a legitimate 3rd option to step up to help us win in the playoffs, but unfortunately, nobody showed up on the offensive end outside of Roy and LMA.

Dude. Read the thread. I said that Blake helps our team because he spreads the floor thus creating room for Roy to operate. Blake doesn't just help us when he MAKES threes. He helps us merely by being a THREAT to make threes. You said that Miller and Bayless could do that too but the fact is, THEY CAN'T. If Miller or Bayless are in the game, their man can leave them to double Roy.

Furthermore, Bayless and Miller can't "drive and create" unless the ball is in their hands. Who do you want to have the ball at the end of games? Roy or Bayless or Miller? The answer, if you've been watching, is ROY. That means we need players on the floor with him who SPREAD THE FLOOR so that he can do what he does best.

I don't dispute this possibility. Little would make me happier than to see Roy develop this same chemistry with Bayless and have him take over the starting spot. Further, I could see the argument that with all the catastrophic injuries this year, these next five months would be the perfect time to develop said chemistry.

They double Roy regardless of who is in (haven't you watched?); and if Miller and Bayless got more burn and our offensive set's "changed"; instead of the same old predictable stuff, we'd be more productive, why are you arguing that our same old offense will work this year when it's clearly not, and didn't in the post season?

    Eric,

As someone who values examples of one game, is this the kind of player you want on the floor when the game is on the line?

Outlaw was supposed to be that guy but he failed. Roy, afterwards, said that he believed that Outlaw would play better next season and I agreed. Just in case, though, we went after Turkoglu who would've been a legit third option. Unfortunately, he turned us down. Then we decided to get Oden involved but he got hurt. Now, it is CLEAR AS DAY, that we need to trade Miller for a FORWARD who can score. That moves Bayless into regular heavy minutes at PG for the first time in his career. I wouldn't be surprised if such a deal goes down next week.

heh- I'll compromise for the sake of the debate, and say, Ya, i'll sacrifice Miller for more Bayless burn... :)

In the San Antonio game, they doubled Roy and Roy had to kick the ball to Miller TWO POSSESSIONS IN A ROW with the shot clock winding down. Miller threw up two awful three point shots and we almost lost the game because of it. Blake, however, can make those shots.

Let's just agree to disagree. I think Blake's shooting this year is just as awful. but whatever no biggy.

Trading Miller for a FORWARD who can score makes us SO much better. Blake, Roy, and Bayless all play better and we finally have a forward outside of LMA who can score.

    LOL, oh god...

It's safe to say if that was Miller or Bayless, that wouldn't have happened and something good MIGHT have happened on that possession.
