Good for Ewing, I know he's been looking for an opportunity for awhile now

    Really? Why?

Told @ Vegas summer-league former #Knicks assistant Phil Weber will interview for Blazers head-coaching job. Weber is D'Antoni disciple.

Shaw was in Orlando w/#Pacers and has a great situation. Still, he wants a head gig. Like Michael Malone, next in line. Meeting w/#Blazers.

I really want Shaw as our coach. I think it would be a great fit.

What is his offensive and defensive philosophies? What makes him a great fit? I know little about him as a coach.

He's a motion guy with a triangle base. Likes uptempo and pressure, physical defense....see Indiana

Given Lillard's shooting touch that could work ... of course that means Aldridge would need to get a little better at reading double teams and passing out of them (when appropriate) but I think a motion offense could really take advantage of Nic's ability to come off of screens (Barton too).

Gotta think he's more qualified than Canales right?

Maybe Orlando told Shaw and Malone that they are moving Howard soon for a bunch of picks and plan on sucking Charlotte style for the next 4-5 years

All I know is a lot of people, including myself, questioned Olshey about waiting so long, but every single candidate that was available when he got the job is still available....just like he said

True to his word it seems. Let's see if he does match Batum, and then I'll be a happy camper all year.

Do you think Ewing would be willing to be an assistant, and be our big man coach?

I won't bitch or laugh - but I won't believe you on that point, either. Canales, for whatever his faults, has been working full-time in the NBA for several years now.
