    McMuffin is back!

Anyways, hopefully D'Antoni is indeed a candidate and is interested. I believe in his hiring as much as I believed in picking Lillard

    It just makes sense!

BTW, I couldn't sell you on Shaw. The only way I would Shaw is if it's linked to Jackson becoming President of this Organization.

I can give you many reasons on why I think Coach D would be the perfect choice for this team.

I don't need many reasons why to think D'Antoni would be a great fit

Lillard and Aldridge/Hickson in the pick and roll

Wesley and Batum on the outside, and hell.....maybe even Babbitt

The one thing I never liked about D'Antoni is he almost NEVER uses his bench. With the Blazers being a young team team that just can't happen.

:dunno: If you are looking for a "bridge" coach, D'Antoni seems a decent pick. He will help the youngsters develop their offensive game, he will keep the fans entertained/engaged, and you can always bring in an assistant to teach defensive fundamentals.

Olshey has said he is looking for a teacher. It's obvious why, with the fact that last year's Blazers never seemed very fundamentally sound and now with all the new young players, and of course Hickson and Batum are still very young and even Aldridge has a lot of stuff to work on, nobody has referred to him as "the big fundamental".
I think that's why they went after Sloan first. But when Sloan was told that for the first year the emphasis would be more on teaching than winning (properly so in my opinion), he declined.
So, I really see this coming year as the "Year of Instruction". And I think it's possible the reason Olshey is looking at so many coaches is because they are going to need more than one teacher; he's looking for really good teachers and may be hoping to lure a couple away to be assistants in Portland, at a higher pay rate and maybe with some glorified title.

You hire a coach to win games. You hire assistants to teach (in their capacity as teachers).

Ownly a cheapskate owner tries to hire a combo-coach.

Well, I think it's kind of different situation. There will be times when they have to let the young guys and Batum play through their mistakes. This will not win games in the short run but hopefully by next season (2013-2014), it will pay off

I like D'Antoni as a bridge coach, because his system could inflate the value of the team's assets.

Sure, Paul Allen has really shown himself over the years to be a cheapskate owner.

Word. Not a big fan in General, but think he would be a good fit for the current state of the team.

I like D'Antoni, but I'm not sure how well his system works without a HOFer point guard.

My guess is whenever Brian Shaw is ready. So probably around that time.

Nah. The cheapskate is waiting to see if the Mayans were right. No sense spending money on a head coach with the hope the world is ending!

This is a REALLY good point. 2 years of D'antoni could really help Olshey get some good deals for some of our currently crappy scrubs.

Looks like Jacque Vaughn to Orlando. Another good call by Olshey to wait

Don't forget how good Felton looked in D'Antoni's system.
