I personally don't think Turner or Clifford are bad choices. Both are more capable than Kaleb. If it were me having to choose between those, I woul dhire Turner and keep Kaleb. When and if Turner failed, I would then give Kaleb a shot

Disagree with Rice and maris61; I think the other three candidates are actually the best available in our situation; and since Olshey knows Canales will stay no matter what; I am guessing it will be one of the other three.

 Talk about nonsense. This reminds me of those pictures on the back cover of Highlights magazines, where the kids were supposed to find as many things as possible that were wrong.
    • PA bought the blazers in 1988; 24 years is not "nearly three decades"
    • Blazers have been over the cap nearly every year
    • PA is estimated to have lost over $1B on his ownership of the Blazers
    • The Blazers made the playoffs for the first 16 years of PA's ownership, and have only been last in the division once (05-06)--clearly not "wallowing in and out of the cellar".

I'm sure there are other things to point out, but that's enough for me.

A little info on the most anonymous member of our final four--Steve Clifford--from a March 2011 Orlando Sentinel article:

Going from Jerry Sloan to this list is a kick to the head.

I guess I'd like to hire both Stotts and Clifford; maybe as kind of co-coaches; they would have to work our who had responsibility for what. One is a defensive expert, one an offensive expert and both are supposed to be good teachers. With Kaleb as part of the team, I think they could do well.

I have not been in favor of giving KC the Head Coach job. But like others I would like to keep him on as an assistant. But what if it was reversed? I can see where he could actually be a good head coach if he was surrounded by some bright minds. One on offense and one on defense. His strength is his work ethic, his relationship with the players, and his ability to work with the young players. But if they could surround him with coaches who's strengths were x's and o's, then that combination may be the best choice.

Any updates on this? I figured they would make a hire before the end of the month. When is training camp supposed to start?

Plan: Kill time until October and then keep Canales on as HC with the interim tag intact.

They did the same...fucking.... thing with Buchanan.
