I'm going to get a little philosophical for a second ... Aside from Popovich, aren't all coaches interim?
Well, on that scale the Portland Trail Blazers are temporary. So is the planet. So is the galaxy. But I still hope the Blazers hire a good coach.
Me too. There are certain threads that need to end and be put out of their misery for all our sake. This is one of them.
2.4 is nearly 3, unless you want to nitpick. Blazers have not been over the cap "nearly every year". PA has not lost a penny with the Blazers, only local businesses he refused to pay have (through a laughable bankruptcy). The Blazers have not been a competitive team by any stretch of the imagination since the jailblazers were disbanded.
Mathematically 2.4 would round to 2, not 3. Please define competitive. Is it a Conference Finals team? A playoff team? A +.500 team? Competitive is not a scientific term and is open to interpretation.

Quick needs a vacation. "It's getting so hard to believe anything an athlete says these days. Same thing with agents. And general managers. And coaches. And ..." "... yes, and sports writers. Get me out of this racket."
In less than 1 year it will be 2.5 and will round to 3, hence "nearly". I define competitive as having a chance to win the title. One and done is not competitive by most people's definition.
Chris Haynes "The #Blazers have now finished round 2 of interviews for their vacant head coach position. Elston Turner just concluded a 4.5 hour session."
