Now it's for sure pretty much on anyone on our radar should be still available when we "start" the coach hiring process.

Could Phil Jackson be wanting to coach OKC since they have Durant? That would make Scott Brooks available since he doesn't have a new contract.

Please god no on Scott Brooks. He makes 1 defensive adjustment that works out in 4 series and suddenly everyone wants him. There are at a least 7 out of work coachs and 5 assistance I can think of off the top of my head I would much much rather have then Brooks.

Yeah, wasn't sure how much of his success was due to having a great player vs. X's an O's

Me neither. A great find was when Bob Whitsitt hired the Real Madrid coach, who then took the Sonics to the Finals. George Karl.

Coincidentally, that's the order of the pay he'd get. From top to bottom, Portland, Orlando, Charlotte.

For example, with McMillan's bloated contract, don't expect McMillan to coach until Paul Allen's liability ends.

That actually makes a strong case for hiring re-treads as Karl had been fired at Cleveland and GoldenState prior to coaching Seattle.

He had been written off and totally forgotten after those 2 losing teams. He had to go to Europe to find a job. So he was beneath the retreads.

When Whitsitt hired him, it was as radical as drafting a forward around 19th in the draft who hadn't played in college. Nowadays it's ordinary, but back then Shawn Kemp was very risky.

That would piss me off more than drafting The Soup Juggler

Why? He looked like he did a great job getting them over San Antonio. He also keeps Durant and Westbrook from imploding.
