Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too
Went for a ride in a flying shoe.
    "Hooray!"
    "What fun!"
    "It's time we flew!"
Said Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle was captain, and Pickle was crew
And Tickle served coffee and mulligan stew
    As higher
    And higher
    And higher they flew,
Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too,
Over the sun and beyond the blue.
    "Hold on!"
    "Stay in!"
    "I hope we do!"
Cried Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle too
Never returned to the world they knew,
    And nobody
    Knows what's
    Happened to
Dear Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me too.

Ickle Me, Pickle Me, Tickle Me Too
from the book "Where the Sidewalk Ends" (1974)

Where do you ge this stuff? I don't doubt it, more amazed with the information you get on this board.

And if the average male drops testosterone 20-30% after a loss . . . then last night I must have dropped 40-50%. That loss took the wind right out of me and many otehr fans . . . that ride on the max back to my car was a wierd ride . . . everyone looked out of it and no one was really talking about the game . . . quiet on the max except for the three males remembering when their friend threw up in a car and he tried to cover his mouth up and eneded up getting vomit all over everyone else including the car vent and someone's lips.

Yep it was so quiet that everyone on the max was hearing this story . . . a poster here by any chance?

Maybe this moron should watch more than just Lakers games.
Celtics were 1-3 against the Wizards last year
    Lost to Charlotte
    Lost to Golden State
    Lost to Phil
Taken to 7 games by the Hawks

...yeah a good team losing to a bad/lesser team hasnt happened in 30 years

Re: Blazer fans are to fickled?

I like when fans post their resume ("I've been watching 30 years", etc.), but then don't pick up things like the difference between a 1-2-2 and a 2-3 zone. Or where cutters should be going. Or missing defensive assignments

    What do you watch? (rhetorical).

Side note: One of the reasons I'm usually not on game thread is that I like to DVR and start watching about 45 minutes after the tip. It allows me to ffwd through commercials and the halftime show, but back up to look at plays again. ORL did some really interesting things, and it looks like the Sergio/Rudy oops are actually being set up and called, since Joel set two beautiful screen-downs to get Rudy open both times.

Re: Blazer fans are to fickled?

I felt like they were struggling the whole time (yes, I know the box score tells a different story but that's what it looked to me) and knew from the way they were playing in the final 2 minutes that the Magic were going to win that game. I don't know why but I just knew it was coming. They never looked comfortable and they rarely make mistakes like that at crunch time. I just think their brains checked out a couple minutes before the game clock did. I really think a few home games and practices and getting to sleep at home is going to do the trick, I'm not worried about them at all. I just did some math and found that the Blazers have already played 39% of their road games for the season but have only played 29% of their total games. We are going to be LOVING this at the end of the season when we want our guys peaking to go into the play offs.

FYI - I was not the vomiter discussed on the max. Eeewe!!!

Re: Blazer fans are to fickled?

To show how different we were thinking . . . when the Blazers were up by 8 (108-100) I tunred to this 17 year old kid who I always sit by (crazy, he dresses in full Blazer gear and yells at the top of his lungs all game) and told him it is over. He got so mad at me becuase he siad I jinked them and I kept telling him not to worry (after each Orlando 3) "it's over."

I don't think he is talking to me anymore.

One last crazy story about this fan, Orlando starting celebrating in a big time way after the last shot (I also thought it was over the top) and the crowd started to boo. This kid jumps over two rows of seats and rushes the floor pointing and yelling at Orlando players while security held him back . . . Batie walked right up to him, stared him down then went into the locker room. The kid is a character, but I have grown to love him (not my ears though)

    BTW-good to see you posting again . . . internet sex? . . . again?

Sounds to me like you might have been sitting next to HCP. Did you see his story about risking life, limb, and hoodie for the cause? He's literally a die hard Blazer fan/employee and probably one of his dry cleaner's favorite customers.

Re: Blazer fans are to fickled?

I don't remember the exact source as it was a long time ago that the study took place, and I googled it and could not find a primary source. I did find some secondary sources backing up the claim, but nothing that linked to a primary source. If I remember correctly, the article regarding the study was published around 1998 give or take. I do remember specifically reading the article, but can't place exactly where i was.

I did find a lot of research about actual players of sports testo loss when they lose, and that a defeated fighter shows a dramatic loss, but I was not able to find anything about fans.

EDIT: I found a little bit.

    http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/dowbrigade/2003/10/14/losing-causes-chemical-castration-of-fans/

I have to go do some stuff now, but I am sure with the name James M. Dabbs, you can find a primary research article if you want to know more.
