In OKC's three wins over GS, Kanter was: 18 minutes, +2 18 minutes, -17 (quite an achievement, given that OKC won by 28!) 8 minutes, +6 (OKC won by 24, so that was probably garbage time)
Which win and loss are you referring to? I believe the scouting team had Lillard penciled in. He certainly gets credit for not fucking that up and taking someone else. I also believe he asked Dame's opinion and chose Leonar_ I am pretty sure that is accurate
Dame is pretty clearly the "win" and Leonard is pretty clearly the "loss." With that said, that draft sucked pretty hard. It's pretty funny because we actually have two other guys taken after Leonard in that draft: Harkless and Plumlee.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-dwight-howard-a-serious-look-in-free-agency/ Not my first choice, but ....
Howard should want to come here to resuscitate his image. Would be a total feel good story. Plus I want to see Laker fans hate on us that much more.
So tell us what you think of the Meyers Leonard pick. No never mind don't. We already know what you think about WABC and players from Syracuse. You can't have it both ways. You can't indict him for picking Leonard without praising the Lillard pick. You HAVE to give NO credit for Lillard.
Laker fans would hate us if that happened. The hate between the two fanbases has been getting soft lately, we need something like this to reinvigorate hate.
Why though? It has been reported that tge staff loved Lillard well before Neil was hired. It was also reported that Neil asked Dame who he preferred as a big. I give Neil credit for not vetoing the pick of Dame
So you think he asked Lillard, who hadn't played in the NBA yet, who he should draft and that's the main reason he drafted Leonard? Also, it doesn't matter if the scouts loved Lillard, Olshey still picked him.
NO still did the diligence of attending workouts, had interviews, dinners ect. Neil made the pick. Not the scouts. If congress has the purse strings, why does the president get blamed for spending?
I'm not though. Neil said in interviews that the scouts had Lillard pegged. Also said he asked Dame and then chose the other guy. I give him all the credit for not going against the scouts, picking CJ, finding nice role players in FA. He's a good GM. However, he has swung and missed also.
They all swing and miss. Just like hitters in baseball, if a GM can bat .300-.350, he's doing pretty good. Even with all of the advanced stats, it's not an exact science figuring out which rookies have games and personalities that are going to translate to the NBA. There's also the cold reality that, no matter how good Olshey may be and how well he identifies which players to go after in free agency, he can't control what those guys are going to decide to do. I don't think that there's any doubt that Olshey is a good GM and is a good fit here in Portland. I just think that we're going to need a longer time frame than this summer to determine just how good/successful he will ultimately be.
I have to say he worries me. If the Blazers get him I'll be holding my judgment and holding my breath.
What's Biyombo's advantage over Whiteside? His offense is much worse and his defence is not even as good. Maybe rebounding at top form but even then Whiteside's an excellent rebounder so it's equal at best.
