I wasn't really talking about one on one matchups with a stretch 4 as far as perimeter defense, I should have been more clear. Was more talking about when Aldridge is switched off on a guard on the perimeter.. typically he forces the guard into a long jump shot over his 6"11 frame. some may not consider that good defense but personally I'd rather have a guard take a long jumper over him than get to the rim, draw a possible foul or kick it for three. I can see how he at times falls asleep on defense guarding guys like love/Anderson/dirk. The only thing I'll say on that is typically(minus dirk) Love and Anderson come off of down screens. Which are difficult for any big to get around, because that's typically something reserved for guards. It's why I consider Love so overrated.. A big who gets most of his shots by coming off down screens.. while effective isn't a true big imo. Maybe that happens because Rubio can't throw a rock in the ocean, maybe it'll change now that adeleman isn't the coach... but that's a entirely different topic. I will say, as much as I hate it if Aldridge's minutes don't come down with better bench play.. Griffin will be the best PF. I hate saying that too. But right now Aldridge gets the nod.
