I didn't get to listen, but I found this part of your post a little ironic. He gets paid to sell and he's very, very good at his job. Before everybody creams their jeans I'd say reserve judgement for about a year and look at the results.

I like the idea ..see how well he develops with the ball in hand.. his size would be great and think of how deadly he would be as a second string point that can score as well as he can..keep him at 2/3 when Dame is in

I'm just not one of those that tries to find the hidden message in every statement, especially when he was so transparent for over an hour today, giving details I didn't think he or any other GM would. If he's bullshitting, I at least hope Scorsese casts him in his next movie cuz he fooled me.

The real headline should be .... Bruce Bowen's number is retired?

The thing he did not promise results. He just explained his thought process with what he was doing. It was nothing several people on this board have not already asked for. To me it sounded like a logical and realistic step. Sure we will roast him if the players he brings in suck, but none the less he did not sell us anything. He just stated the reality of it all.

I thought it was interesting to hear Stotts say they were great defenders and he wasn't sure what sort of system we'd adapt yet going into the season. CJ was encouraged after his exit interview to work specifically on pt guard skills offseason. He's just too small to guard most 2 guards and he needs to be comfortable at the 1 at times. Seems like they gave Davis TRobs answers from his presser and said, just say this.

    This was interesting for me.
    "We've actually upgraded some positions."
So, he says "positions", more than one. Can't be shooting guard, because no way is Henderson as good as Wesley (unless olshey was sure Wes would be diminished physically). Can't be power forward. So that leaves center and small forward. So I guess he shared the opinion of a lot of posters that Batum wasn't that valuable anymore, he is basically saying Aminu is better than Batum. And also he may have felt Lopez was good but not really 10-12 million dollars good, and that Davis and Plumlee will be better.
Also saw he was quoted as saying "I hope so" when asked if he would make a trade before the season. And he specifically said backup PG and SF were the positions of need.

I think he meant Center. He believes plumlee > lopez.

Totally agree. Makes me kind of ill to think about how poorly run and out of touch the Patter/Nash debacle was. Polar opposites. Hopefully polar opposite results as well.

That was my thought when I first read Sly's post. Based on this, there is no debate on some of the guys we'd discussed from the Blazers.

Neil told Blake and Kaman before they opted in that their contracts would make them very lucrative pieces in a trade, and that they should both be prepared to move if needed.

It's good he's up front with the players. At least they won't be blind sided by Woj's tweets when it happens!

Not for sure if he could have handled it any better. Was short on answers about Hughes but was not expecting all of that information to be explained. Surprised no one pressed him on that after he revealed his bet on blowing up.
