Very intriguing. I can see why they would want it. Cj would be a good compliment to Doncic. Doncic needs to run the point. Not sure he and Smith are a good fit.

I am a CJ fan and I would do it. Barnes is better then anything we have at SF.

This is what I'm thinking. Money wise it makes sense for us... we can give Wes a Portland hello then send him out at FA.

And for Dallas... holy damn CJ and Doncic together would be filthy.

Wes is expiring, Barnes can opt out, so it could end up being CJ for DSJ, and getting rid of Turner.

And I don't see DSJ and Dame playing well together.

So a huge salary dump and a decent young player? Where do I sign?

Agreed. Itd need to be a 3 way where DSJ is flipped to another team

But would we get someone decent enough to justify trading CJ? We can't just trade him for a salary dump.

I'll post my response from the other thread:

Heck yeah I'd do that! Wes is expiring. Barnes has a big number for next year but it's still less than CJ and has one less year. I'm not a fan of Dennis Smith Jr but we could definitely trade him somewhere else (Suns maybe for Mikal Bridges?)

Honestly, I don't think we can do much better than that for CJ and we get rid of Turner too, sign me up.

The salary dump would possibly be the other two, as they can are either expiring or a player option.

But DSJ would not be part of the dump.

Pheonix would be the most likely destination.

DSJ's career has hit a thud with the acquisition of Doncic. Something is wrong with DSJ besides the injury. He's gone from a guy who was thought of, as a possible R.O.Y. ,to just another young player with potential.

Barnes and Wes? That’s interesting. Cuban might be willing to deal Barnes right about now, strike while he’s still stewing.

Barnes would be a good addition and certainly Wes could plug right in too.

I saw yet another discussion on a Bucks board involving a CJ for Middleton swap. This one was CJ and Aminu for Middleton, Snell, and Ilyasova. I think swapping CJ for Middleton would be pretty good, like before ha ha. I'd like that trade a little better if we could throw in Biggie so we don't have to cut someone and save even more money.
