Who cares? We have Paul Allen. With Faried, we likely give him Eds role. And we could make smaller trades to shed a little more salary.

Winslow and Turner have similar turnover numbers and are actually on the lower side at 1.1 and 1.3 respectively. Olynck actually averages more turnovers than Turner at 1.9 in similar minutes and doesn;t handle the ball as much. I also doubt very much that Miami would do the trade.

@hoopsjock I would take the Faried trade then:

Shop Aminu to a team with cap space or a TPE, and try to do this:

    POR Gets: Bayless, #10, #26 or Bolden/Lessort
    PHI Gets: #14
    3rd Team Gets: Aminu

If we're using the TPE were adding salary. There's no functional way to make use of the TPE without taking on salary..

Bones, unfortunately there are a bunch of morons in there and no one will take Aminu and picks are worth way more than they should be. People are refusing to give up crappy 2nd rounders for a guy like Bam Adebayo.

So while I agree that course of action would be great, it's not looking doable. I think I'm better off doing the Miami trade and shopping those guys/using the TPE elsewhere.

Olynyk actually handles the ball a lot. Not as a PG type but he thrived last year when they ran the offense through him.

the point wasn't about Olynck as the point was Turner is not a turnover machine like labinot41 alleged.

Have you watched the Pelicans series dude? Evan turnover made lobs to his teammates allmost 2 meters over their heads. Evan turnover is just so stupid he can't even throw a simply lob. I allways feel uncomfortable when he has the Ball in his hands. When he came to Portland i thought he is a good ballhandler and passer, but his ballhandling is Average at his best and his passing just sucks

I wouldn't judge any player on the roster using the Pelicans series as a parameter...that would be like saying Dame and CJ can't shoot....Turner is a solid defender...nobody on the Blazers can throw a lob since Andre Miller.

I always thought throwing lob passes is harder than a regular pass. There is a lot of finesse involved and while you have to throw a ball that hangs in the air for a while, you also have to throw it fast enough the other team doesn’t get it.

Yes dude, I did and since when does one series determine a players ability? He averaged 1.5 turnovers in the series and 4 of those were in one game and he had 2 in the other 2 games he played in. Hardly a turnover machine like you claim.

Okay so I made the Heat trade of Turner and #24 for Olynyk and Winslow.

Then I made a trade with the 76ers in which I got Bayless, Rights to Jonah Bolden, #26, and #39 using the TPE.

    Current Roster:
    Dame/Bayless
    CJ/Baldwin
    Harkless/Winlsow/Layman
    Aminu/Collins/Bolden/Swanigan
    Nurk?/Olynyk/Leonard/PapaG

Obviously Big Heavy but I am working on other deals and have the 26th and 39th picks to fill out the back court.

That’s a better roster than it would have been had we just used our pick. With a couple players with the potential to make a difference in Winslow and Bolden.

If this was the only type of move we made with maybe the addition of using our TPE, I wouldn’t be bummed but I also wouldn’t be too excited heading into the season with the same starting 5. Still, I think that team wins 50+ games just wouldn’t be suprised to see the same outcome in the playoffs.

Think Davis and Olynyk could coexist? Offensively they could. Davis can guard 4s. Maybe send out Aminu for some backcourt help.

I think between Collins, Bolden, Nurk, and Olynyk that is plenty of bigs so I'd probably let Davis walk. I'm trying hard to unload Aminu but he doesn't have much value in this. Expiring contracts aren't exactly valuable because no one cares what happens beyond this summer. I put Swanigan, Olynyk, and Winslow on the block too.

I'm trying really hard to trick a team with a big non-guaranteed contract to take Meyers so I can just cut the player(s) I bring in and clear his whole contract off the books.
