Yeah Asik's value is leveling out to what it was on the Bulls. A great backup but not someone you want as a starter. What team is going to give up a starter for that, not to mention he is owed $15 million next season.
Well the funny thing is, If Lopez and Asik switched spots I bet you would say the same about Lopez. I'm not saying Lopez is not good but lets not forget that it does pay to play with great All-Star players such as Aldridge by your side. Might I take it one step further and say future Hall of Fame? That might be premature but he is arguably the best PF in the NBA right now.
If we were to trade for Asik, it's incredibly important that we don't swap Lopez for him. A straight Lopez-for-Asik swap might look prettier than what we have, but chemistry is a real thing and Robin is awesome with that. Not saying Asik wouldn't be (because he'd be starting and happy), but it's imperative we keep Lopez because of injury concerns. It's not having Lopez vs. Asik that's my problem, it's what we're gonna do if Lopez goes down. /knocks on wood
Well all the rumors say Lopez for Asik. Also says the Rockets really like CJ and talks are happening. Take it for what it's worth.

BNM had a great post comparing Asik to Lopez in terms of impact, but I don't know where it was. Wouldn't give up Lopez to get Asik, and I wouldn't give up basically anyone they'd want (Aldridge, Lillard, Matthews, Batum, McCollum, Batum).
I like CJ too. I predict once he gets a little seasoning, he will be more consistent, and less turnover prone, than Mo-Chuck.

Ya right! If Channing Frye was playing for the Blazers just as good as he's playing for the Suns right now, No way in hell would any fan trade Frye for Asik but since he's on a different team that makes it make sense?
