No offense taken. I'm not saying Aldridge wants out. I just thought the timing of that story was strange, and now we're supposedly interested in Monroe (who I always thought would be a nice replacement for Aldridge if he was dealt.)

I'm not saying it's going to happen. I'm not saying it could happen. I'm merely saying that some of the information that was leaked strikes me as unusual. If I was a true conspiracy theorist, would I be convinced that Aldridge is being traded?

That was true in the 90's but modern basketball is a very different dynamic. Batum is a great 3 point shooter, can initiate an offense, can guard multiple positions, and possibly most importantly has half a decade experience playing with LaMarcus and Wes. Haven't we seen with the Spurs how important years of familiarity among teammates is?

Just pointing out an odd observation. Didn't intend for it to be personal. Although I admit I might be a tad harsher on mods because I feel they can handle the criticism.

I've been thinking about it, and I think any trade for Monroe would have to include Robinson. It's the only way we could keep Monroe AND Lopez happy.

There are 96 combined minutes between the PF and C positions. Rolo averaged around 31 mpg last season. Monroe averaged 32. LMA averaged 36. That's roughly 99 minutes total.

If Rolo averaged 30, Monroe averaged 32, and LA averaged 34 mpg, that would put us at 96. I think all three could be happy with that.

I'd say goodbye Meyers, CJ, and a pick for Monroe.

32 for each of LMA, Robin, Monroe (maybe a few less for Robin and a few more for LMA). What does that do for TRob, though? Except if we want to go big....

trob for monroe would be a steal. we could also get jermaine for insurance or keep freeland for that. now that would bolster our bench quite a bit. i would hate to see trob go, but he is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from untouchable.

That's why I think Robinson would be gone. No way to keep him happy while trying to play LA, Monroe, and Robin.

I just feel bad for Robinson. The guy deserves some stability.

As much as I like TRob, I would give him up for Greg Monroe. He's an upgrade. And probably long term.

The team is looking for ways to improve and if Monroe gives them that ability any emotional attachment to a player needs to be set aside.

I think that 34-35 min mark is perfect for Aldridge

Totally different player when he's rested.

Does anyone have the link to Falks comments when Hibbers resigned with Indy?

Something along the lines of "they're a class organization and I'll remember this in the future."

I don't really see how this would affect trobs minutes. Monroe is a center. ROLO wouldn't play 30 minutes anymore and you won't see aldridge and trob together. Aldridge could use more rest as well and that's where trob can increase his minutes.

What about Wes/CJ/TRob/Meyers then sign Avery Bradley/Vince Carter, take a flier on Ed Davis as well.

    OR

Lopez/CJ/TRob/Meyers then sign Hawes/Kaman, Ed Davis

Those both equate to approximately 15 mill in salary for a S&T Greg Monroe

    Monroe/Lamarcus/Batum/Bradley/Dame

lets not forget about lopez injury past. not trying to jinx him or anything but if he or lma ever went down monroe could step in and we wouldnt miss too much of a beat (maybe more so if aldridge was hurt).
