Like I said, we are in a different affiliation, so standards change with each "promotion". Old ballpark is not up to code. So new one has to be built.

If there is anything that will stop me from watching and supporting this team, this is it. If they pass off renovations/improvements to the tax payers and the billionaire owns cant fork it up. Fuck them. I mean seriously.... Fuck them. They will never get another cent from me and I will vote it down every time I have a chance.

Someone explain to me why a clause that 100% of money spent for improvements by the city would have to be reimbursed if the team were to be moved is a bad thing? That seems like a fail-safe for the city (tax payers) and a deterrent for any future owner to move the team.

I think public private partnerships are good. A revitalized Rose Quarter would bring jobs and tourism.

You don't live in Portland, do you? So I don't think you'll get to vote.

Maybe I misread/misunderstood that. I thought it was the moda itself. Im down for revitalizing the area around it, its in dire need. I hope that also means reworking the roads around it. Possible even an elevated max station(which is a huge part of the traffic issues down there) so traffic can flow and the max can flow without waiting for each other.

That is only important if the city (and taxpayers) already spent money on improving the arena, if I'm understanding that correctly. It's going to be a challenge to get the taxpayers to pay for renovations in the first place.

If a new owner arrives before renovations are agreed to/paid for, they can threaten to leave under the guise that the city isn't willing to develop the arena.

Why not have the city pay for a place for the rich hang out. Aren't they trying to make us pay for a place for the homeless to hang out?

I dunno, they just spent $1 for a giant homeless shelter. Might not be budget now for you rich folks.

It's been a great idea for the last 30 years. Paul Allen has bought the old Thunderbird hotel, He's been all for it. It's the city that hasn't done s*** and I don't see the city doing anything now. The area around the Moda has actually gotten worse in the last 30 years. Not better. Look at Lloyd center for example.

Isn't 50% of the parking revenue required to go to renovations/improvements?

I had no clue MLB PDX bumper stickers and swag were so lucrative that it could pay for some salaries and buy a golf course. I need to start selling bumper stickers!

Just spread a sliver of hope and you can sell a whole hell of a lot bumper stickers.

Do you have one on your Avalanche or something?
