How about when they were missing the playoffs every year?

Now we're one of the youngest teams in the league, and we're making the playoffs every year...

Is rather get a lottery pick than swept in the first round every year... this team has no hope until they trade CJ

It always makes me somewhat sad when fans criticize other fans for wanting their team to win a championship.

If that were happening in this thread, I'd feel similarly.

It does. Dviss calls out Gronk because he wants a lotto pick instead of getting swept in first round. Both want a title

It was obviously hyperbole, but you knew that.

Portland has made the playoffs 34 times in their existence. 23 of those playoffs ended in first round losses.

Almost 70% of the time, Portland loses in the first round if they make the playoffs.

    As for swept.....Um no

I'm pretty sure I've acted like my two year old on here enough that most of you know how I feel. :)
I will say I think there is a "chance" NO can upgrade the depth and make moves to bring in another quality starter, without trading CJ / Dame / Nurk.
Dame hasn't been great in the playoffs, and this post-season just sucked, but Dame is a legit super-star. CJ has inadequacies but there are 20 teams (at least) that he'd be a starter or the 6th man for. Nurkic is young, and has shown a lot of the inconsistencies that comes with that, but he can play. Will he ever be a top 5 center? I don't really think so but I think he could be a starter on a winning team (he was this year), and I think he will continue to work hard and get better. I do have some concerns about his maturity (he basically quit and got fat in Denver), but he lost that weight and appears to be working hard, and happy in Portland.

Now this thread is about Stotts, and well he's going to be here next year, and there were some good things he did this year (even though I like to give him crap), the defense was much better. So I can understand the "give him another year" people.

Anyways I enjoy being a broken record too. If they don't do much this summer and come back and get knocked out in the 1st round again next year. I'm going to make it onto a lot of people's ignore lists or take a few weeks off from posting, might be better if I just take a month off at that point...

You don't agree with him. Hyperbole can still be used to make his point. MM posted the first round exit stats and they were actually worse than I expected.

If only we had a wealthy owner who wanted to win a championship.

I don't deal in hyperbole with posters like gronk. It is either true or it's not. In his case, it wasn't.:bgrin:
