Looks like IV had another good game. At this point, I'd like to see him play with the Blazers for the next 3 weeks before the deadline to 'try him out' & see if we can trade Napier.
I don't see the team icing Napier (benching him) so even if Baldwin came up, he wouldn't get time until/unless Napier was moved. Stotts has said Napier is helping the team win and he wants to get him more minutes not less.
Nice, missed the game. I’ll check the replay out. Looks like it’ll be worth it. And yes I think he’s ready to come up.
Napier should be trade bait. He’s one of our few valuable trade chips and is a total luxury on a team that can’t afford one.
I think Memphis will really regret letting this guy go. He may have been a bit of head case but Dame can level out anybody.
Baldwin needs someone like Lillard and I think they will click. Dame will take to Baldwin’s competitiveness, and Baldwin should be a sponge around Dame. Vanterpool will also be good for him.
Watched Baldwin’s game. Have nothing new to add except I noticed he wasn’t wearing a wrap on his hand anymore. Don’t know if that had anything to do with his good shooting night but can’t imagine it didn’t help.
Yeah this does make sense. He makes 2.3 this year. Do we trade him for someone who is young, unproven but with a high upside that makes the same salary? Or do we trade him along with a larger contract for someone who makes the same salary as the 2 combined? Either way we need a trade partner who needs a young PG and has an extra wing they can part with. Any ideas?
I’m down for a Napier/Barton swap. Utah should be interested as well and some kind of package centered around Hood could be of interest. I know that’s been mentioned here by others.
I haven’t seen enough of hood to comment on this, but I know Barton plays bigger than his size and we could probably get away with him at SF. He’s always been a good rebounder as well.
I think being able to play the 3 is much more about having length. Hood is 6’8 with a 6’10 wingspan which is on par or above average for a starting 3 in the NBA.
