I don't know what "alos" means, but Aldridge isn't a foul machine.

I came up with a trade that might make some sense.

    Lee trade

    Portland trades:
    Sergio
    Raef
    Outlaw
    Ike

    NY trades:
    Lee
    Marbury

The deal also works if we take Sergio out and add in a Pick or two instead.

The Knicks get Marbury out of town and save money because of Raefs insured contract. They also get Outlaw, who would be great in their system. Adding Sergio would be a little too much perhaps, but he would also thrive in their system.

(I personally value Bayless far more than Sergio)

Portland lets Marbury walk or perhaps (although I doubt this) lets him play off the bench and add to our PG depth. We get Lee as our 6th man.

The problem with this trade from the Blazers standpoint is that it does nothing to shore up our two weakest positions, SF and PG. This is why I don't see Lee as the target for the Blazers.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
IF this is a rumour based on truth, then it sounds like a three-way deal to me, too. Charlotte needs size. Perhaps Portland sends some talent to New York, Lee goes to Charlotte (via Portland) and Gerald Wallace comes to Portland?

That would address needs in Portland and Charlotte. Perhaps Portland sends something like Rodriguez and Outlaw to New York. Outlaw would be the proven asset (and his athleticism and length would be a nice fit in D'Antoni's system) and Rodriguez gives them an iffy point guard prospect made to play in D'Antoni's system.

I like that deal, but Lee on the other hand is no slouch pickup, especially considering that Przy's wrist is dodgy (short term thinking I know).

I can almost see Charlotte wanting Frye (if I squint and turn my head just right); seems like he might be a decent compliment to Okafor who is more of a point blank range kind of guy, whereas Lee and Okafor might be competing for the same spots on offense.

Whatever comes, I just hope KP is able to do something, because I think there's a better than average chance our vaunted 2009 FA plans are about to get a serious dent put in them.

I would think that Joel's days might be numbered if we end up trading for Lee. He's obviously got a ton of trade vale considering his low salary and solid play this season. He could be the key piece to add along with Raef to land a starting SF or PG.

This is a knee jerk to a need and not a good move! KP should not even think of moving Bayless. Our team is very young and are earning their stripes. Lee will be a distraction playing behind LA. Not good for the overall team. This is the time where guys like Rudy who mouthed off through his agent about playing time before getting here needs to show why he deserves it. Step up!!!! Same for Outlaw! This is their time. If they fail, they can't ever moan again. The team has been place in their hands for the last few games and a huge one today! Step up or shut up time!

When was LEE and allstar BTW?

I would absolutely love that. It hurts to lose Sergio because I think he's going to continue to improve, but to get Gerald Wallace, you don't just give up nothing. The only thing is that we end up having Wallace/Webster/Batum at SF. How do the minutes play out there? Especially assuming Rudy will play 20-25 mpg too. That's a lot of wing players (don't even need to mention Roy) who have been getting time.

Um Joel needs to go nowhere! He is the defensive force of this team and one hell of a team player. Joel is our backup ace in the whole when refs dive on Oden with fouls! To be honest Joel has been kicking Odens butt this year on productivity in my eyes. Trading Joel is a massive mistake!!! You rarely get two seven foot centers that can do squat.

I worked that out in my other thread (only with Caron Butler instead), but Batum goes back to the bench. He needs more time to develop. He's shown flashes of what he can do, but he really needs to work on his offensive game. Webster has the ability to play the shooting guard spot, which is nice because Roy likes to play point at the end of games. Webster gives us a bigger body at the two if Rudy is having trouble.

If they fail, we are stuck with a bunch of under performing players with not much trade value. It's time to cut our losses with some of the potential players (TO, Sergio) and get some proven talent.

I'd give up Bayless, but not for someone who I don't feel wants to be a backup, and will want starter money.

But if we are hearing about it, its probably not gonna happen.

And LOL at suggesting to trade Joel. The guy has been amazing this year.

Backup power forward, while not the most pressing need is still a pretty big hole right now, and in the future I can say that a front court rotation that includes Oden/LMA/Lee with Przy coming in as needed is a pretty sweet prospect (Lee is no great shakes as a defender, but he's incredibly versatile, a great rebounder and very good on the break). I think you fail to understand that Lee and LMA would probably be able to play alongside each other for parts games when Nate goes small.

I don't see how this trade rumor has anything whatsoever to do with Brandon being out and Rudy and Travis needing to step up in his absence; this would be a move about making the team better, not some panic induced reaction to our franchise player going down for a couple of weeks.

I am with you on that! When i first saw that we were interested, i immediately had thoughts of a huge front court.

No, but everyone of the players you listed are/were the leading scorers and number one offensive option on their teams. Comparing them to Lee is a bit over the top. Lee is a role player - a very good one, but a role player none-the-less. He will never be the number one scoring option on any NBA team (if he is, you're in SERIOUS trouble). He's at best, the 3rd option on a bad team, or the 4th or 5th option on a good team.

But, you don't trade for Davis Lee for his scoring, you get him for his hustle, energy and rebounding. Any scoring he provides while doing those other things is a bonus - and with his hustle and energy, he we get you some easy baskets off broken plays, loose balls, offensive rebounds, etc.

And FWIW, I believe all the guys on that list, with the exception of the rookie Mayo have lead their team to the play-offs at least once.

All my argument was is that good players can be stuck on crappy teams. I dont care what NBA team you are on if you lead a team in points, rebounds, and FG% and have averaged a double double for three years you have to be doing something right!

Hey guys, Kp stated very emphatically that his main concern right now is getting something in return for Raef's expiring contract. The latest report out of NY is that Curry is somehow tied to any Lee trade.

Raef for Lee and Curry works according to the trade machine. What else would Portland need to make this trade happen?

Would Curry be a decent backup center? Joel would certainly bring us back something special in a trade.

    Your thoughts?
