After one really bad game of course I am not optimistic. I would be very, very surprised if the Blazers came back to win the series. Even if they won three games I would be surprised. They did not play that well in the last month; it seemed we were always going up against teams with key guys out. However, I know that in life and especially in sports, there are always surprises. I am hoping for one, starting tonight. There's plenty of time later to speculate about free agents or trades.

Yes I'm excited for next season.

I'm also anxious to see how the Blazers compete in the playoffs this season. Although I don't have high expectations, I'm not ready to completely write them off.

Sometimes it's okay to keep your opinions to yourself though.

Who cares if we have no chance of winning, dont' tell the team that. I want to see a team come out and compete every game. We weren't supposed to make the playoffs, we are playing with house money so what if we lose in the first round to a superior team. Hell if Blake wasn't injured for 49 games there wouldn't have been even a reasonable doubt that we could challenge the Clippers.

And I'm entitled to mine. He's a bad fan.

Nope. Read the bet I proposed. I bet you "HCP's $100."

No problem with watching from a "realistic perspective". Just remember, though, that "realism", when it comes to trying to be objective when watching sports, does not equate to "reality". "Realism" is based on percentages and estimates based on past performance. "Realism" had most national prognosticators predicting the Blazers would finish around 11th in the West and nowhere near the playoffs. "Realism" had me predicting 35 wins and you predicting 32. "Reality" includes such damnably unpredictable positive things as leadership, growth, spirit, momentum, and energy. It also includes negatives like injury, doubt, and bad chemistry. "Reality" is why they play the games instead of just running computer simulations. "Reality" is why I get excited when the Blazers play, even when I think they're likely to lose. You just never know when something truly amazing is about to happen.

    Go Blazers!

So glad you are going to root for the Blazers even though you don't believe in them...indeed you are entitled to your opinion...but what bad taste to look at the summer when the season is not over regardless if we have a chance at winning or not...a true fan doesn't stop believing until the last game is played...a true fan believes in his team no matter what...you may call that delusion sir, but I call that faith...I realize that the Blazers will probably not win...but I refrain from creating threads like these until the fat lady sings...I don't think you are a bad fan, I just think you are getting a head of things...

    P.s.

I am a Homer and pick the Blazers to win every game in the game to game predictions thread, but picked 43 in the season wins thread and made some insanely accurate predictions in the various predictions thread...and I think believing no matter the circumstances is part of what makes a true fan

You are entitled to your opinion, but leave the personal insults out of the forum.

Hmm... I'm about to listen to game 2.

    Seems the series isn't over.

It's too much visual stimulation for Stren to view the game and the forum at the same time.

This seems a little obvious. Considering I would've put the odds at us winning a championship at precisely 0%, we were going to lose in the playoffs at some point. The mere fact we made it is great, anything from here is gravy.

    Queue new thread:

We won't win the championship in 2017, let's start planning for 2018!
