In our best sports web portal sportsport.ba in the forum there is a topic Portland Trail Blazers. There are fans of Blazers from many years ago. Actually the thread started on 2010-th and was very active those years. Unfortunately in this season last post is from November. I read some posts from 2010-th and find out some things (How you got rip city name per example). I will register here and see if it can be active again. This is link:

You know all the teams, but now I'm the one looking up words. Which I will now do. I looked up theremin before because of this board, but forgot what it means. Even after I looked up meme, I still didn't know what meme means. I suspect that a Croatian made up those words to confuse Americans.

 

Were you ever a Drazen Petrovic or Arvydis Sabonis fan? I know neither is or was Bosnian...just checking

 

One question for veterans here. How you remember the most liked and probably best player from my ex country ( and my favorite player as well for all time who played for Blazers and unfortunatelly killed in car accident - Drazen Petrovic? I was very young but remember him well was my idol as a kid...

I was always a Goran Ivanisevic fan as well....saw him play live in Hong Kong once....what a serve!

 

Petrovic was my idol as a kid. Sabonis was a main opponent because he played for Russia (later for Lithuania) which was main oponent in Europe to my ex Yugoslavia Country. Full respect fir him. I watched him live aganist Bosnia as well.

Petrovic is Croatian but was in Yugoslavia before we got independent countries. We had in Yogoslavia some strong national team with players who played in nba ( Divac from Serbia (Lakers) Petrovic, Kukoc (Bulls) from Croatia etc...our main rival for european champion was Russia with Sabonis at those times.

 

I have his #44 jersey still. But I didn't watch him cause I was too young. One of our greatest.

 

Petrovic would have been the greatest Euro player ever if he'd lived to play a full career...best pure shooter I ever watched at the time
