This makes no sense whatsoever and is incredibly stupid. I'll assume it's a mistake.

Probably the same type of random speculation that led to the 10 minute rumor that the Blazers were pursuing Bynum.

Agents always say lots of teams are interested in their client.

The Utah Jazz will pursue O.J. Mayo, according to sources. They're going after him hard. I've been hearing that since their season ended.

I would love him on our team, but aren't we overloaded with guards already.

Too many guards. If we were to sign him, you'd have to think that Matthews is gone.

I think that's the point. Use Matthews as trade bait for Asik.

I don't see how Matthews would get us Asik. If they signed Howard, thhey'd likely look to move Asik for a PF, not a backup to Harden.

I thought the idea that was being kicked around was Matthews/Leonard.

That's what I remembered reading too. Also asik is a true center. Moving him to PF would be a mistake. Leonard has ability to play pf; IMO.

Seems like they have plenty of young options at PF. If they trade Asik they won't want to bring back a big contract at either PG or SG for that matter. So they might as well stay with Jones and/or Robinson. Isn't Moniejunas a PF too?

I get it for us. I just don't see why they'd do it. If they're able to shed Robinson, and have the ability to sign Howard outright, then I imagine they'd get better offers than Matthews/Leonard. Like I said, I think they'd initially target a good PF to go along with Howard.

I would assume that Houston wants to build a contender. Why wouldn't they want a great backup shooting guard who plays defense? I think it would take more than Wes/Freeland, so I think we would have to include Leonard, but I guess we'll just have to see. Nothing is going to happen until they get Howard (if they get him).

Yeah they wanna shed salary so wouldn't they have to include Robinson in the trade too? That way they shed a little bit more salary. Or add a third party to shed more?

Good rule of thumb: stay away from USC SGs. They're all sizzle and no steak. And I say that as a sort-of proud ex-Trojan.

Not if Houston is serious about going after Dwight Howard. Why would they want to tie up more money?
