Agreed. Just don't make the leap to arguing that we would have clearly gone to the Finals if we'd just been able to beat the Mavs. I don't even think Dallas was the best overall team in the playoffs last year -- they just caught fire at exactly the right time.
Yeah, I think it's fair to say that this Felton experiment has been an utter disaster. I thought he showed potential to do some good things at the beginning of the year, but he's actually regressed since then. I can't help but think that something is very wrong behind the scenes with that guy...
I don't think so, but we would have had a chance. If we won that series, I'd say there's maybe a 20% chance we'd go to the finals, since we play the Lakers and OKC pretty well. Woulda lost pretty handily to the Heat though I think.
Just got home. Quiet flight. Talked to Nic as we got off the plane and he said his knee "twisted" as he planted. Wished him luck tomorrow. Tough loss. I can understand being pissed, but damn, how quick some of you bail on your favorite team. We will win the next 2 games. Doesn't matter how good we are over the years, we just don't play well in Utah. Not making excuses, just don't know how you can turn so fast on your squad.
HCP ask the team how they blew a 8-10 pt lead most of the game. Oh, wait. I know that answer. The team lacks on defense and takes jump shots in frantic situation to catchup in offense, especially 3 point attempts. I watched the game. Blazers had no offensive rebounds when their teammates shot the ball. Sad.
I think maybe you are on to something here. Seems in particular that Mathews got a lot of back door baskets with Miller. It seems like Miller made a lot of players better; it seems a shame that with Aldridge and Batum on the team Felton simply cannot make a decent lob pass.
We will beat Charlotte at home and Sacramento on the road? I don't know, that's going out on a limb, daring prediction there... Hmm, how'd you pick the number two. Which teams do we play after those two. In order, they are Denver, Oklahoma, Houston, New Orleans, Dallas....Owww!! Uncle!!!!
Aldridge may have the most raw talent on the team, but I refuse to grant him the title of "best player on the team" when he always folds in the 4th quarter, and piles up the bulk of his stats in the early parts of games or the low-pressure parts.
I agree miller was the better mold for wesley matthews, LA, Batum and Wallace in the mix. Felton just looks like a football player running the point guard position.
Camby made a successful lob to Aldridge, and Crawford an unsuccessful one (because it arrived too close to the basket). I thought, why are Camby and Miller the only ones who can or could do this right? What is so hard about making the pass? It's hard to receive and make the basket, but why is it so hard to initiate? I don't get it. Any point guard could do this successfully with Walton.
We've been spoiled by passers and threw them in the garbage like toilet paper. McMillan favors shooters at guard over passers, so we've watched Sergio, Rudy, and Andre come and go. Like the old guys, the new guards don't make shots because McMillan wants players to be thinking of defense first, second, and third, with shooting about fifth priority.
You should ask LaMarcus why he's such a pussy almost exactly 50% of the time. His effort on defense and rebounding is pitiful.
Just finished watching the replay. If only Nic had have pulled the trigger... ... we'd have taken the lead, Nic wouldn't have driven, wouldn't have injured his knee, we'd have likely won the game. Bugger.
Is there a worse starting guard combo in the NBA than Felton and Matthews? We can win with those guys.
