That was Memo mocking Kobe's big ball dance last year. Yeah my bad, I thought you were calling out King Gaines.
Nic says Ronnie Brewer deliberately tried to run into his shoulder: http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2010/02/trail_blazers_118_jazz_105_nic.html I wouldn't put this sort of thing past a Utah Jazz team, but that's quite the accusation.
With this loss, we are hanging by a thread. 8th place in the West, with more tough games ahead versus Spurs, Lakers, Thunder and Suns. We're only a game and a half above the Rockets- they have the same # of losses. I hope Roy comes back soon and at 100%.
If you watch Utah's offense all the time, they constantly are screening, banging, and just trying to get to their spots on the floor. This is the kind of stuff that Pussy-fies the NBA. Basketball is a contact sport, that's why you shouldn't play if you are still hurt somewhat. Now what Ariza did last year, that was intentional. Brewer going through the offense, cutting hard can't be pointed at as a bad thing. The guy makes a living cutting hard, and getting to the hoop, of course he's going to run into his guy occasionally.
The reason Utah felt they could bang us around is we have no one to make them pay. May I suggest that Batum save the tape of this game next year and offer to buy Joel and Greg dinner to do the same. For every Karl Malone you need a Brian Grant.
erm ... his shot came in the final 20 seconds of the game during garbage time ... it wasn't anything I would call highlight worthy; in fact I don't exactly really remember how he scored (a short jumper from the left elbow IIRC?)
