Id go after Smart or Vonleh but the bigger question would be who we would have to go get to replace Batum. Parsons would be too expensive and isnt nearly the ball handler or playmaker Batum is. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
I wasn't suggesting anything about holding out or whatever. santeesioux suggested that the blazers offer him a toxic contract (surely joking). My main point was that Parson's isn't available because intends to work out a deal with the the Rockets instead of signing an offer sheet. The google comment was lame, sorry, but it seems that your opinion is speaking to contract negotiations in general, and I was speaking specifically about Parsons based on some random thing I read or heard, anyway fuck Chandler Parsons. Peace man
The only way to get Chandler Parsons is to vastly overpay for him so the Rockets won't match a signed offer signed offer sheet, and without a major overhaul, the Blazers don't have near the cap space to make that offer.
What are you talking about, the Chandler Parsons Project was clearly the better sf in that series and we should throw everything we have into getting him
Repped for putting this song in my head. It's been a long time.
http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/233667/Cavaliers-Interested-In-Love-Noah-Aldridge-Horford The Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in acquiring an established All-Star big via trade. Kevin Love is of interest to the Cavaliers and is the closest player in a group that could be available that includes Joakim Noah, LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford. Aldridge was mentioned in trade rumors a year ago, but the Blazers are now trending upwards after advancing into the second round.
I wouldn't move Batum for a top pick because outside of the top 4 it's not worth it and your not going to get a top 4 with Batum.
I am pretty sure GM's use a different basic criteria than fans do in terms of evaluating College players and how that will translate to the NBA. I honestly believe that many fans/posters have a difficult time seeing anything beyond the here and now. They try to downplay hype, these guys were saying "I wouldn't trade Rasheed for the #1 pick, that Lebron kid is unproven and I doubt he'll ever be an all star even". GM's with that mindset fail fast.
A good example is people downplaying a comparison between Wiggins and Jordan by pointing out Jordans success as a Junior compared to Wiggins as a Freshman. No before people guffaw, I am not saying I expect Wiggins to be of that level... Just pointing out the comparison. As a freshman Jordan 31mpg 13.5ppg 4.4rpg 1.8apg 0.2bpg 1.2spg Wiggins 32.8 mpg 17.1 ppg 5.9 rpg 1.5 apg 1.0 bpg 1.2 spg Statistically very comparable, edge goes to Wiggins actually... And he was also playing on a loaded team BTW. Of course you can't just go by stats (see Adam Morrison). This is where GM's and scouts differ from fans.
Not a huge fan of NBADRAFT.net but their NBA comparison for Smart is Dwayne Wade. My biggest concern is we would have 2 guards under 6'4" as our starters.
He was. Said poor man's Chris Mullin. I still tease him about that, and he still stands by it. LOL No one is perfect
Not trying to impugn you/him; but you did ask. Outside of that one, I can't recall what other opinions of his you've shared with the forum.
Cowherd made that comparison today based on Chad Ford's conversation with him. In that mold basically
I think the only other one I can remember him swinging and missing on is RoLo. He thought it was a decent pick up, but I don't think he, like Neil, thought it would be this good
