I understand the desire to "stand pat" if this were a typical year with a couple clear-cut favorites to win it all and we were on the outside looking in. But with it being so wide-open I think we need to strike now before another powerhouse (CLE? MEM?) pops into existence. But with a bench that consists solely of Blake/Kaman there's no chance this team would win it all - especially with the competition bolstering their rosters.
I see no available players who would be an improvement to our playoff chances this season. We're a smoothly effective team right now, the culmination of playing together at a high level since training camp, winning with key bench players filling in admirably for injured starters several times this seasons. Many teams would have already given up the season if their center was out this long. It's not even a speed bump for this team. Actually, I am hoping other teams fall prey to the idea and ruin their chemistry and flow by adding players at this late stage in the season. Greed is often the most costly sin in the end.
Lol I know, Cleveland has turned bombing 1st picks into a science. After Embiid got injured I figured there was no way they could screw up last years pick, and they proved me wrong!
I am sorry but I have to laugh at your contention. We have the players NOW to make a serious title run. That is obvious by merely looking at our record. Why would you want to fuck that up by messing with our chemistry?
I don't think this team has to make a move. They still have yet to max out what they do have. Until that happens, I don't see it being essential to do something.
I would openly welcome a solid rotational player to sure up our bench. Our bench is still not up to par and with all of these injuries it sure would help. And I don't think chemistry will be an issue with this team. We have our leaders in LA and Dame and no player coming in will affect that.
I don't think olshey will trade for anyone with a contract past this year. My guess is he'll go after oneal and maybe allen if he decides to come back.
Our bench is more than Blake and Kaman. We've had Aldridge, Batum, Freeland, and Lopez miss multiple games and we are 28-8. Our depth is underrated.
Brewer and Green were worth our first round draft pick. (assuming it ends up in the late 20's) But that is about it.
