I don't think they do know what they would get with Amare until they really get to know him. But there is a difference between this situation and the one with Zach and SAR. Number one is that LMA and Amare are both better the other two and both can be moved a lot easier in three months if it doesn't work out. I agree that it probably won't but I think adding him assures us that we get in the playoffs this year and it would also give KP more than just a week to work out a sweet trade for one of them (Amare).
I read 3 pages of this to make sure I wasn't walking over someone's post. Totally agree. When Blake gets back on Wednesday, Bayless will be lucky to get 10-15 mpg. If you're trading him, RLEC and a 20-23 pick for 18 months of Amare? Uh, sign me up. I'd like to see what KP can do with Outlaw, Blake and Amare and a bunch of cash at the draft. In this economy, what's the over/under for the highest pick you can get for 3M? Do you think we could get Amare for JB, RLEC and our first and 3M, and then buy our 1st back at the draft for another 3m?
I flat out do not believe that Portland has any interest in landing Amare. It just isn't going to happen.
Not from what I heard from KP and I don't have a link. I think it was a smokescreen and he really didn't want Augustine. I also heard they tried trading him to us right after they drafted him and KP turned them down.
After the draft he said Bayless was his number one player. After Charlotte picked him they told Portland they wanted 13 and Outlaw for Augustine, Pritchard turned him down.
I think that's entirely possible. However, I disagree about keeping Amare until June. I think that turns LMA into Shareef. "Uh, we just got this other guy, and he's, well, better than you, so, we're going to have you play SF. Cause we really think you are great, it's just that he's better. And then later we'll trade one of you. But it might not be you, because other teams probably value him more, just like we do." barfo
Do you mean the Bobcats? Maybe that tune would change with a lineup of Felton, Bell, Diaw, Stoudemire and Okafor. That team with Coach Brown should be be able to get into the Playoffs. From there, who knows. That's a not anymore coin to spend than they already are and for only one and half years, where as with Wallace the deal last longer. They spend the same amount of coin yet increase profits, right?
Oh man, exactly. KP may not be perfect, but I do believe he is decisive when he finally does pull the trigger on a move.
No I think the Bobcats might be interested but not the Suns. That doesn't save them any money. From what I read and with the Suns owner calling other owners I think he wants to save money so he won't be paying a luxury tax next year. That trade wouldn't save him any money and that is why he is looking at the Bulls, Cavs and Blazers for expiring contracts.
