First... Missed this thread. Damn. Thought I was on top of it for once. Big Three... no one knows, but Olshey who they would like that to be. I don't. Monroe? Maybe. He would be the weak link though. I am thinking it is more like Hibbert though.
Lillard has proven he's worth the money. Every year he's gotten better he's proven he can raise his game to another level when it counts. He's a closer clutch 4th quarter guy and nobody will forget that shot vs Houston to get us out of the 1st round. If and when LA leaves it won't effect or hurt Dames game he's that damn good. 25/6 congrats Lillard next year raise your game to curry level.
I question this. As has been said in several threads, players output and drive can sway depending on their situation. Hibbert is in one of the most controversial situations in the league. A highhopes team that failed. a team that backed the guy who slept with his girl. I would lose motivation too. You put Hibbert with this group and I think we have a team. AMinu closing drivers down on the perimeter and wing. Hibbert down low to stop anyone that gets through. Then on Offence, Hibbert down low with LMA spacing from his usual comfort zone. Go get a Starting SG and I think I am content to see what happens until next year. A team that can possibly make the playoffs and win a round, but with a great young future.
I'm not sure if extending Lillard this early was the right move. It's going to make LMA think back to his extension. It didn't happen until right before the October deadline and he had to fight for every dollar. While it's right to give Lillard the extension, Olshey should have waited until after the LMA situation is finalized. Now LMA is going to hear this and think back to when Roy was almost immediately extended and he wasn't.
If we get Monroe, then I doubt we would go after Hibbert. Hibbert works with LA, but doesn't with Monroe, simply because Monroe has zero range outside the paint. Now if we could put Hibbert with Leonard and the second unit, it could work, but $15 mil for a back up center? Is whitsett running the team again?!?!
I hope the final season doesn't have a player option. So it sounds like he must be our "designated player". Teams are only allowed to have two on the team; one they draft and one via trade. He will join Rose, Irving, Harden, Paul George, Griffin, Westbrook, Wall and Anthony Davis in that group.
If thats the kind of crap that we have to do to keep LMA in town I almost want to see him walk. Thats an insecure loser way of thinking. LMA rookie extension was a whole different management team and almost a decade ago. Grow the fuck up.
He just wants to be loved. Why won't you love him? He's asks so little. It's always you you you but never anything about him. When you come home from work do you even bother to ask how LaMarcus' day went?
I think Lillard's defense is unfairly maligned. The problem, as I see it, is the way the Blazers defend the screen. Lillard fights over the pick and often has no help support. No way can you fight over a pick and beat your man to a spot without help. They leave Lopez back to protect the rim, but it creates so much space for the defense. Most teams bring a man up.
It's a good move if Lillard does not get injured. The max now is a lot less than it will be in the future.
This is Dames team he's our Golden Boy! Let's face it LA has been itching to get out of Portland. It is what it is. This year is going to be huge for CJ he needs to get 30+ mins. Leonard and Plumlee have high motors will bring it every night. Hibbert cashed out the day he signed that huge contract.
With the current roster shaping out. I would MUCH rather have Hibbert than Monroe. Obviously if we keep LMA. If LMA leaves, then Monroe it is and we are in a semi rebuild with a young core.
It's just the opposite, of course. You'll get to play with a top 5 PG for the rest of your career if you stay. Interestingly, if I were Aldridge I'd be mildly interested in Toronto. They already have a good team without him. He'd be in the playoffs every year for the rest of his career in the Leastern Conference, and probably an all star each year, too.
