These new advanced statistics might be entertaining, but the key is the additional scoring that can mean wins over the Wolves, Thunder, Warriors, and Eastern Conference teams.

The Blazers can have a great record in the upcoming games with strategic substitutions, especially in the 3rd and 4th quarters, that keep Blazer scoring up. With determined defense and using the best shooters at key points in the games, the Blazers are looking at making the Western Conference Finals.

Serious question: How is Meyers' swish3 defense?
    Serious answer: It's terrible.

A big problem for him is that he is a player whose skills work at cross purposes.

    He's got great jumping ability...
but very poor awareness, so he can't play inside. The jumping doesn't help him on the perimeter.

    He's got a good 3 point shot...
but his feet are stuck in mud making him a poor perimeter player on both ends. His shot is also glacially slow.

His brain is "like a computer", so he knows all of the plays...
yet he is often out of position.

This is terrible news against the other 10 western conference teams that apparently will not be affected by this strategy change.

Season statistics show that Meyers defense is better this year, at a team average level. Blazer coaches should play Meyers at key points in the games to improve probability of wins.

Wizard Mentor, look at this year's record and recognize the improvements that mean that Meyers can contribute to success in coming games and the playoffs.

Based on how many minutes this year that mattered? lol. look at history, not this year when he said he was going to prove himself to everyone and he's shown no one.

This is the important factor. Meyers needs to be in the game for at least 8 min stretches at key times, like the 3rd and 4th quarters, to extend what the statistics show he is doing this year. I want to see him taking 6-12 swish3 attempts per game, and that means playing more than 2 or 3 min.

The lack of swish3s (0 for 9) in the first half of the TiBo Wolves game is the vivid example of the Blazers without the 3 point weapon. This was the type of situation, when the Blazers could not buy a swish3, to play the best swish3 shooter on the team, Meyers, to get the 3 pointers rolling. Instead of Evan, the Blazers could have had Meyers providing some swish3 firepower. Given that Zach was an abysmal 1 for 6 for only 2 points, I would have played Meyers for some of both Evan's (0 pts in 21 min) and Zach's (2 pts in 18 min) minutes.

In the more challenging upcoming games, the Blazers can't afford to have 0 swish3s in a half, and should include the best scoring talent as the season statistics prove. It is great that Dame and CJ got hot in the 2nd half, but let's give them a boost with swish3 scoring.

In the next games we must have Meyers Leonard taking at least 16 swish 3s a game ensuring that we score at least 8 swish3s and get 24 points more.

Meyers Leonard is the best swish3 shooter in the league and should be recognized as such by the Blazers coaching team.

When was the last time Meyers had an 8 min stretch in a game? 2015?

What is weird here is that he genuinely believes Meyers would be a 50% three point shooter over the course of season if he played. That's better than Curry or Redick ever were. Nuts.

First, use the @ symbol in front of people's names, and they'll receive an alert.

    Second, some questions for you:

Do you think another team would give up a first round pick for Meyers and his contract?
Do you think another team would give up a second round pick for Meyers and his contract?
Do you think another team would give up just capspace for Meyers and his contract?

I'm pretty sure Neil would have taken any of these. IMHO, other GMs don't see the value
in Meyers that you do. Ultimately, that matters more that what any of us think.

While over 50% success with swish3s with just 17 attempts does not mean certainty, the fact is that best on the team shooting would have been welcome in the game against the TiBo Wolves.

It makes sense to put Meyers in instead of Evan when there is zero swish3 scoring by the Blazers. To beat the Thunder and continue the winning streak, we need to keep up the swish3 scoring.

No, but the font is easy to change. Arial is the top of the list. It is easier to read non-serif fonts than the Micorsoft promoted Times Roman. Do you dislike Arial?

Okay. This might be the first post that makes a slight bit of sense, but not really if you think it through.

Though Turner did not play well and was mostly a non factor on offense, he is still a better than average defender and can cover 3 positions. In a league dominant NBA, it is more important to be able to lock down on the guards than it is to have elite interior presence (thought some sort of interior presence is needed).

Unfortunately Meyers slow registry makes him a bigger liability on defense than it is a POTENTIAL benefit on offense. Right now, the team is playing better based on defense first. Sacrifice that and we take a step back into last year.
I will trust the staff in knowing that until he shows he can handle himself in practice and show quicker instinctual movement to the ball and overall court vision to help stay ahead of the ball movement, he will not play anything but garbage time again.
    $40 million garbage time minutes.

Don't worry, we love Arial, but only when talking about swish3s

I agree we should have put Meyers in the game instead of Turner, I'm sure he would have done a wonderful job guarding the 3 spot
