But Indiana doesn't have to match that if they say, Ok, Roy, we will give you the same money Portland did, and add a non guaranteed 5th year, or whatever, if you don't sign anything until we sign other free agents
Looked like he started to at the end of last season, but he seems like a guy that will quit when he gets paid
Not that it matters much, but from the pic Hibbert posted on his twitter acct, it looks like he might still be in Portland. Hard to tell where it could really be, but it was of a bike chained to a parking meter that was stipped. Sounds like Portland to me...
http://twitter.com/Hoya2aPacer/status/222899412681228289/photo/1/large That's a coin meter, we don't have those anymore. We're high tech n shit.
Yeah, I was a little confused when I read that the other day. The night before, Mike Wells of the Indy Star stated that he was "already in Portland" ready to sign.
Correct. I was just saying that Portland can't make it any more "toxic" or "front/back-loaded" than that. If Roy doesn't sign POR's offer, then IND can negotiate anything they want.
::BUMP!:: A year to the day! Quite the contrast to this summer with Kaman and Pachulia. Aim low, Neil! Aim low.
Ok then, who out there is this years' Hibbert? (A solid, young center who fits Blazer needs to a T as a legit 7 footer who is a defender, rim protector and rebounder, yet who has holes in his game, and has yet to prove the ability to be a franchise cornerstone and has yet to prove the ability to step up in the playoffs, and thus it is VERY questionable that said player is worth a MAX contract, AND said players' rights are held by a small market team with an owner that will not allow total team salary much over the cap, thus opening a window for stealing said player who is an RFA) I will answer. There is no Hibbert. That was a very unique opportunity and situation. Hibbert ended up proving himself and living up to his contract which made Neil look very smart for trying to steal him and made Indiana look smart for matching - but they really thought long and hard before they did.
You're right, there's no Hibbert. I would settle for anyone on the linked list. http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=single&per_minute_base=36&type=advanced&lg_id=NBA&is_playoffs=N&year_min=2013&year_max=2013&franch_id=&season_start=1&season_end=-1&age_min=0&age_max=28&height_min=82&height_max=99&birth_country_is=Y&birth_country=&is_active=&is_hof=&is_as=&as_comp=gt&as_val=&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&qual=&c1stat=mp&c1comp=gt&c1val=1000&c2stat=trb_pct&c2comp=gt&c2val=15&c3stat=blk_pct&c3comp=gt&c3val=4&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&c5stat=&c5comp=gt&c6mult=1.0&c6stat=&order_by=ws
