I cut the cord with Comcast a couple of years back, and now with a Roku 3 and an antenna I've got 100 mbit/sec internet through a local ISP for $60/mo. psvue for $35/mo. and no contracts or promotional price hikes, and most importantly never having to fight the urge to cap myself after spending two hour on the phone with Comcast's horrific customer support. Throw in HBO Now for $15 and Neflix for $10 and that does add up a bit, but I'm no longer grinding my teeth in my sleep thinking about cutting those fuckers a check.
$4.90 per game (50 games on CSNNW, 7 months of VUE from November thru May). This, by the way, is almost exactly the price of Blazer Cable back in the 90's.
Just leave a $5 on the nightstand when you visit Mrs HCP during Blazer games and HCP will make $$$$$$$!
Of course you got nothing else for that money back then, and with Vue you get... what... 100 channels?
10/27/16 to 11/27/16 = 34.99 11/27/16 to 12/27/16 = 34.99 12/27/16 to 1/27/17 = 34.99 1/27/17 to 2/27/17 = 34.99 2/27/17 to 3/27/17 = 34.99 3/27/17 to 4/27/17 = 34.99 6 months = 209.94 81 games left 60 CSNNW games (52 exclusive) 6 ESPN 6 TNT 9 KGW/NBA TV only (not on VUE) CSNNW (52) = 4.04/game I need VUE for nationally televised games too so it's 2.92/game You can also run the 7 day trial for an extra week.
SO we would only use this for the CSN games. Trying to justify this. Also, after April 15th or so, all the playoff games will be on KGW. So I would need it from tomorrow till the last game of the season. Thanks for the math guys, but I think this changes my price per game. I am going to have to have my accountant help me with the math!
I thought all Blazers affiliates were paid handsomely. Is money really an issue? or that just a farce because of PA's large wallet?
I thought you were kidding this entire time, Dewayne has a stack of Sony Vue gift cards in his office. Just go ask him for one.
Do you have a top tier package with Direct TV/ Why not just cancel that and get the large Vue package? I believe it comes with most of the channels you are getting on most packages with the cable and satellite companies? My problem is the DVR and recording functionality I heard needs improvements still.
See? Im not the only one that cant tell when @HCP is joking or not!!! lol Umm a stack though? @SlyPokerDog come on, get some for us and call it swag!!!!! I thought you had skills>?
We have 2 DVRs with DirecTV. I can record 6 things at once. With my wife and two kids and my addiction to watching sports, we use the fuck out of those things. None of us watch LIVE tv......would suck to not have the DVR situation we have now. Under contract with Direct for another 9 months. I love their service other than not having CSN and Pac-12.
It's month to month dude... you can turn it off at any time. If you decide you don't need it one month, turn it off. There's no contract.
I'm with HCP, my family of 4 watches a crap ton of TV. Alot of which is on DVR. We have Dish network's Hopper and need to be able to record 6 plus channels at once. Of course we don't get the Blazer channel and I would like to hear how people are liking the Vue etc. I don't have a Playstation though and would need to use a stick of some sort. Those of you that are using the Vue etc, please let the rest of us know how it performs so we can not piss off the family. Thanks.
I've only been using PSvue for a couple of weeks, but so far, so good. N.B. I only have one TV, so I can't speak to being able to watch multiple devices at once on the same account.
Certain avenues allow for usage like a DVR. So much stuff is on demand now, so we don't need something with DVR capabilities, so I don't know which ones have memory, but there are plenty of options out there with Roku capabilities but with memory to record you favorite shows and movies. But for a one-time purchase price instead of monthly fees.
I can tell you that you can even use things like "watch espn" with your Vue account. Pretty sure you can use it on multiple devices.
