Yes, thanks for sharing, now run along.

    EDIT:
But I do want to add one note, Quick was interviewed on Brian Wheeler's radio show today (you can download the podcast from 955thegame.com) and it was stated pretty emphatically that Oden really likes playing with Miller, I know that probably won't do anything to soften your well documented stance on Miller, but it's something to consider.

the offense should go through oden but first should be going through roy as the guy initiating the plays. reading the other thread about this meeting, it seems that is what roy is having trouble with. it's not a problem of him losing shots, but that he's going a few minutes at a time without so much as touching the ball multiple times per game.

i personally feel that with this team roy should start off as the playmaker getting oden/aldridge going inside and then when miller comes off the bench roy will shift to being the top scoring option(unless one of the bigs has a mismatch they are abusing). this would end up working out where about half of roy's time on the court would be him mostly initiating the offense for others and the other half the time he'd be more focused on scoring as the #1 option. i haven't been able to see the last few blazer games to see exactly what's been going on, but in my mind it doesn't seem like this would be a difficult thing to have happen.

Yeah I saw that ... I'm not really sure what Smith was trying to go for there. All I can think of is that he's only been on the beat for about 4 months, and maybe he didn't really pay much attention to the NBA before that.

Maybe he meant he was considered a reach where he was picked? I dunno. Haha.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's how I read it. A first-round pick who was questionable at the point he was picked.

If that's what he meant, though, it's pretty poor writing.

My "stance" on Miller is that he should be starting to see if he can push this team to win. If not, buh bye.

Please though, keep making up my position. Miller hasn't really had the chance to succeed (or fail) this year.

Compared to last season, Oden's FGA have increased 1.7 per game.

Compared to last season, per 48 minutes, Oden's FGA have increased 1.6 His FGM have increased 1.9, so his FG% is up .071.

As long as we're at it, his FTA per 48 have decreased 2.3, but his FTM have also decreased 0.6, so his FT% is up .147.

No one else likes HoopStats, but I love it. On ESPN, there was the 82games camp and there was me and my HoopStats. We would debate over which could do more.

As far as the "questionable first round pick" thing for Roy, at about the halfway point of his senior year he was a borderline first-round pick. He then plowed through the Pac-10 and the Tourney, and then was touted as the "safe pick with little upside"--not considered in the same realm as Gay or Bargnani or Thomas or Aldridge (I won't go to Shelden, for any ATL fans watching).

Maybe some don't remember--his entire junior year was spent coming off the bench behind Krypto-Nate, Tre Simmons and Bobby Jones.

No way. I vividly remember that draft and the lead up to it. BEFORE the draft, the consensus was that Brandon Roy was the player most ready to make an immediate impact. He was the odds-on favorite to win ROY before he was even drafted. The only question was about his durability.

I think your "stance" on Miller changes from post to post. Other times, you don't want to take a "stance". Or at least, you'd prefer to say you're not taking a stance. Two days ago it was get rid of him, he's ruining our chemistry, today you advocate starting him. It all just looks like a convenient way to make sure at the end of the season you can look back and say that you were right. Maybe Nate starts Andre, and things turn around, and you can say you called for it. Maybe we blow up in a bad way, because of Miller, and you can say you called it. You win either way, congratulations. And we all lose.
