Powell pretty much carried the team on his back in the lone win in that Nuggets series.

He was super impactful in the Raptors run to the title

So happy we’re keeping him. Neil gets a lot of shit, but this is a team friendly deal. If he can swing CJ for Siakam or someone of that caliber, things are looking up.

Norm joined us on the road mid season...can't wait to see what happens when he gets to actually go through a training camp and preseason with a core of Dame and Nurk...and a fresh staff and new system...he worked with CJ Elleby for a reason...watch Elleby make the Gary Trent Jr leap in his second year..

I just hope our bench has some pop and stop in it this season...build a lead or maintain one.

Compared to how the cap will scale by the time Norm is on the last year on this contract.

This is a STEAL. 21M in year 5? He could make a case to be worth 21M NOW.

I think the market dried up.

This looks like a deal that was negotiated before FA "officially" began.

Also Fischer was wrong. He said 3 years. Most people said 4. Ends up being 5.

He strikes me as the dude who just wants to be treated well and have some security.

I'm wondering if they needed to guarantee another yr to get him to 18 per.

Maybe, but I'm more surprised it wasn't a PO in that last year. He could have asked for it and probably gotten it.

Could be, but Norm gets better every year. It's not a gamble IMO.

The trent for Powell trade turned out great for no. Giving trent that much would remind me too much of the crabbey deal.
