I heard Mirotic is likely to stay in Chicago. I dont see us being able to offer him enough tbh.

I'm starting to think we'll trade at the deadline in Feb rather than this offseason...give guys we want to move a chance to up their value...right now we'd be selling low on a Meyers or Crabbe trade....

Or after most sign..... Our best chance is trading players to teams who had the cap space, but struck out in free agency.

and you think a team with the cap/tax problems we do is going to spend even more money to go deeper into the tax when it's already so difficult/costly to shed bad contracts which we have a lot of?

Why do people suddenly think Paul Allen cares about money?

    THANK YOU!!!!!!! BLOWS MY MIND!

That said, I think it's largely driven by the media who, frankly, just don't know what the hell they're talking about...

when did he last say that? I think after the performances of the guys we over paid last summer and the likelihood of us continuing to spend more given the tax hits coming is very, very low

The guy is 62 years old. He has no kids. He has no wife. He has already fought cancer once. Does he really give a shit about spending money?

During yesterday's press conference he was asked if they would use the MLE. He said, "unless we have a new owner."

They will spend money if they think it can improve the team.

ZBO is one of the most likely candidates imo. He makes sense from many angles - Usage, mentoring, financial.

If we cut Ezeli and bring in ZBO that would be a huge turnaround.

I really loved the idea of bringing him back last season, but I'm concerned about minutes. Right now, if we don't make any moves, we have Vonleh, Collins, Swanigan, Meyers, Davis, Nurk, and even Aminu (if you still count him as a PF.) That's a lot of dudes. At the very least, you're going to give minutes to Nurk, Davis and Vonleh. We're also going to try to play Collins and probably Swanigan. I just think it's going to be awfully crowded, and trying to bring in a guy like ZBO, who averaged about 24.5 minutes per game last season, could make things difficult.

With that said, I have a feeling there's going to be a trade. I'm not sure what happened to Ed Davis last year, but we might look to deal him because of his cheap contract. I would hope to see Meyers gone, but I have a feeling we're stuck with him until he maybe gets healthy and earns a little bit of value back.

As much as people seem to hate Beverley, i would deal ed davis for him. Or deal davis to a team for a future 2nd pick, and then swap ezeli and that future pick for beverley if the rockets wanta immediate relief and an asset.

So would I but I doubt the Rockets want Ed Davis. Would the Rockets be interested in Crabbe though?
