Um, you might want to look up what "hispanic" means.

It also interestingly coincided with both Blazer centers picking up 2 fouls and Portland having to use Channing Frye. Don't let things like facts get in the way of your denial.

Who wants to give odds on a link being made between this and the Miles letter by the national media?

I just got done watching the replay of that sequence. Three of those four fouls were legit. In fact, they could have called another on Oden hacking Yao.

Keep your head buried in the sand. Even a Rockets fan agrees they're getting calls.

I simply related a segment of the game (unaffected by the reffing) whereas the Blazers lost control. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think they sent in videos. I also don't think they got raked over the coals for a letter/email that threatened other teams with litigation (the point of whether or not it was a valid letter doesn't play a significant role here. It's how the letter was perceived by fans and media alike).

Yup, if you're watching the Hawks Heat game, the refs just handed the Heat a comeback on a platter. I had to turn it off it was so bad. The Hawks were playing awesome ball only to have it negated by Salvatore and company.

Silly and naive to send the tape to the league, who is paying very generously for the officiating and has little interest in fairness or honesty suddenly upsetting their well-oiled marketing machine.:sigh:

Send the tapes to the FBI, or Ralph Nader, who actually has shown a tad bit of interest in these matters.

I did not say that. I said the officiating has been inconsistent. I didn't say whether the calls would favor the Rockets or Blazers more if they refs were more consistent.

That was disgusting! The manhandling of the Hawks in the paint was ignored by the refs where as Bibby's phantom foul on that 4 point play gets the call. Unbelievable!

Props to the Hawks for keeping their composure and not getting stupid technicals.

Without allowing for mid series challenges, I think allowing the coaches to grade the refs at the end of the year, with that having weight on them keeping their jobs or getting raises would be dynamic. 8 or 9 coaches at the end of the season pointing out poor officiating by an individual, with his job riding on it, may be impetus for refs to be a bit more even on their calls. No immediate satisfaction for the team or fans with this, but at least you know that there would be closure.

or just more transparency with the officiating. They get reviewed and receive scores on every game they officiate but these records are never released.
They can't do interviews after the game either. Let the media talk to them and let them explain why they made the calls they made.

By denying access to the refs it just adds fuel to the rumors of game fixing and preferential treatment

Can't take credit for cutting the aforementioned video. They have quality video coordinators that put that stuff together. Good for Nate!

Why was there a rebounding discrepancy? Why could the Rockets be super aggressive? Perhaps it had to do with our two centers being in foul trouble literally from the opening tip.

Could it be that players were afraid to attack the basket knowing that Yao could punch them in the face and not get called? Or that Ron Artest could beat the living shit out of them on the way to the basket? I don't know if can really blame guys for being indecisive under those circumstances.

Certainly Portland could have risen above the issues and won the game. But to say that all of the above had nothing to do with the officiating is absurd.
