"Lead, follow, or get out of the way!"

He couldn't handle the first and was unwilling to do the second. Now we have to live with the consequences of number three.

Stotts and Olshey didn't make LMA into a petty, little diva. Whether they did the best job of handling the problem they inherited is open for debate.

I think when hiring a coach it's a crap shoot. I don't know if it's a exact science unless you have someone with a proven record. You see many coaches in history with sub .500 records go on to be great coaches. I think it takes a lil luck when hiring them. They might have had success in their first or second stint. It doesn't mean they are doomed for failure for life. I'll be honest, I would have never thought Kerr would have had that success as a coach. Just seemed like too much of a nice guy

Wes went down, we lost leadership. You say the team reflected a lack of leadership, but it was Aldridge he couldn't leave. You wanted them to trade him after he said he planned on resigning a year ago? If we did that you would've been bitchin about how they have up their best player and a chance to contend for no reason.

Youre type of person that, whenever things go bad, blames management. Thing is, you couldn't do a better job yourself, but you act like you had all the answers after things play out. It's easy for things to go wrong and afterwards say that they should've done something different. The thing is only one team wins a championship, and any team is more likely to fail trying then to succeed. But you think that if they fail that they screwed up, which is wrong, as human personilty and sheer bad luck play a big part, with players falling to injury (Roy, Oden, Wes) and players wanting to play elsewhere due to personal reasons (LMA).
Basically you try to set up your team with the best chance possible. But essentially its like youre trashing a man for losing to someone on a coin flip, saying he should've played rock-paper-scissors.

I'm not sure Kerr is such a great coach.. I think Mark Jackson was terrible. That and having Klay and Draymond break out, combine to overrate Kerr. He's a solid coach, but not great.

Incorrect. It has already been established that at least 2 posters saw this coming a couple of years ago. Was BGD one of them?

Well, hypothetically let's say I think Durant signs here next offseason. Therefore, according to your logic, if it happens then I saw it coming, as if I knew it was going to happen. I don't have to have great reasoning for it, but if it happens then I'm a genius and that anybody who thought otherwise, even if their logic is more sound, should've seen my vision and known what was going to happen.

There's a chance for everything, you guys are talking in absolute because it fits your pessimistic vision.

And by the way, MAGS said no one had substantial evedence he was leaving. You replied that he was wrong because 2 people "saw" it coming...

Pfft, that was purely speculation. If Matthews didn't go down, would they still be right? I doubt it

Pessimistic my ass. I'm just a realist. I was as optimistic about this team as anyone on this board for the past 4 or 5 years. This year the organization has regressed back to Telfair levels. During that era I was definitely unhappy as well.

Mags is wrong on that. He just chooses to believe that, as do others who think that a link to a Woj article is the only evidence allowed on this board.

    Interesting read.

This sounds like a kid who really would have benefited from at least 2 years in a top college program - instead, he only got 1/2 a season. Too many people around him with their hands out. Tough break for him. I'd like to believe he has a chance, but....

Hehe, I remember that. Alma-mater was mad as hell, but I personally never cared for college basketball anyways, even when Meyers played for us.

Odd, so I'm sure you have a valid explanation when Aldridge played through his ligament tear then?

If I was checked out and 100% certain I was gonna bolt, I wouldn't risk further injuring my hand.

    Like I said, Pure Speculation

that's how you know you're a pessimist. Telfair levels? Because LMA was on the fence and left, leaving us to scramble to acquire young pieces to start a rebuild? Oh, but just because they didn't trade him after he said he would resign here makes them a terrible don't office... shut up dude.

That and the fact that things change. Players have a change of heart all the time. Sometimes you gamble and keep them to see how it plays out. Other times it's just not worth waiting. I think in this particular case, Neil made the smarter choice. It may have not turned out that way, but it's a lot harder to replace a LMA then someone like Victor Oladipo.
