he’s not perfect but I love the fit, especially since his game is so different than Dame and Ants. If we’re struggling to defend the perimeter you can throw him out there and he’ll get stops while still being able to run the offense. A guy like that is valuable, especially in the playoffs when it becomes more about exposing specific matchups. Like with Eubanks, I also doubt we’ll be able to find someone much better for the minimum.
his assist rate is 2nd on the Blazers so he does pass the ball I'm not sure how you could statistically gauge ball-hogedness. How about FGA/assists per 100 possesions: Kris Dunn 1.41 Dennis Smith 1.43 Dame 2.60 Josh Hart 3.29 Watford 3.33 Simons 3.61 Winslow 3.62 Brandon Williams 3.65 Nurkic 3.85 CJ 4.06 Powell 6.60 again, not sure of the efficacy of that gauge but it would seem that a ratio between how often you shoot and how often you pass is a good start
I may have just noticed a couple times where he got tunnel vision. Not a very big sample size for him anyway, so I'm fine just moving on.
Funny I hadn’t seen the stats but I thought Powell was worse than CJ about being a ball hog. That guy rarely passed
He did look for his shot on several possessions last game. There was another game when he did but in that game he was clearly running the play that was called. Overall though, definitely pass first. Kind of refreshing. Speaking of refreshing:
