The 7-foot-5 Vranes was selected by the New York Knicks in the second round (39th pick overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft after spending the 2002-2003 season with Buducnost in Serbia & Montenegro.

He spent this season on the Injured List before being waived by the Knicks on December 24. Vranes will wear #29 and will be in uniform when the Blazers visit the Seattle Supersonics tonight at 7pm. </div>

I suppose it can't hurt. Dale Davis doesn't do much, and we could always use this guy for nothing but his 5 fouls. I guess with a guy that tall you have to give it a shot.

It's a mystery why he was waived. The Knicks were very high on his potential. The Raptors could use him though.
