I have a hard time imagining Dame making a list of the most marginal players in the league and telling Neil to go sign some of them. I think it's more likely the Blazers compiled a list of all the possible minimum wage players, in order to maintain some contract breathing room, contacted all of the potential minimum wage players, and signed the ones who said "Yes, I'll come to Portland."
probably I'm noticing the 'virtue-signalling-be-patient' part of the forum is just as busy bitching about the bitching as the bitching part of the forum is bitching about Olshey it's a bitch-fest August
Like a old ladies, quilting, stitch and bitch gossip forum. And some are very outspoken and opinionated! Some are even Wisenheimers!
Actually, what we need is guys who can play! Talented players gain experience - experienced players don't suddenly gain talent.
All of them can play...people are losing perspective....every cheap guard we signed shoots better than Ben Simmons...we got rid of poor defenders and got a great, great deal done with Norm and we have pieces to make a trade for a more talented vet ...I'm not getting the meltdown..I think yesterday was a good day for the team...what we really need is to see how much better CJ Elleby, Simons and Nas are before we forget they barely broke a sweat last year...I honestly though a coaching change would calm the S2 waters but I think for some it's not about enjoyment...it's about venting....
#1: Dame doesn't know anything about signing players #2: Even if Dame knew, there's only so much the Blazers can do #3: The Blazers re-signed the guy that was most important to re-sign #4: We have signed end-of-the-bench guys using vet minimum contracts #5: We've had a couple guys on our bench the last few years who were worthless. At least these guys might less worthless #6: Freaking out that the Blazers haven't made magic happen when they had no draft picks and no salary cap space is hilarious to me I know nothing about Snell, but I am not really that concerned about him one way or the other. Certainly not enough to get upset about it and claim this has been a bad offseason so far.
Part of my frustration is that Olshey seems oblivious to positional needs. Once again we have only one legit PG. If RoCo gets hurt, or even just in foul trouble, who steps in at the 4? After all these years on the job, Olshey still is either clueless or indifferent when it comes to building a balanced, functional roster.
Coaching was issue #4 or 5 that the team had. Yes, I'm glad for the change there, but there are still bigger fundamental flaws that still have not been addressed (or even attempted to be addressed).
well, considering it's still 3 months till Billups coaches his first game it's kind of had to assign a grade to coaching yet
