Yep. our 2017 & 2018 gone. We'd need to have Cleveland's 2017 or 2018 to have at least one in those two seasons.
With the new CBA going into effect next year and rookie contracts finally getting a bump from the cap going up so much it makes sense that this years 1st rounders will be worth more then next years because of the huge difference in money for the same caliber player.
Exactly. Plus I think the chances of moving up in a draft are helped when you have two 1st round picks in that particular draft. Not sure why people think we are not getting anything out of it.
No. There's so many good players that'll be available at that pick. You don't draft guys just for their listed height. That's why Thabeet went 2nd.
Huh? What happened? Atlanta deal? I really gotta cut out the naps. I miss all of the exciting stuff....
I can't imagine this is just a pick-for-pick deal. The Blazers seem to be doing the Cavs a favor to facilitate the Korver trade. Portland should be getting something else back, too. Right? If so, shrewd move on Olshey's part.
Helen Keller could have told you this team in not a contender this year. Hopefully Olshey and Allen know this already.
It could still put a great run at some point with, say, Millsap and Noel in the frontcourt. Still not worth it. Better aim for next seasons.
What a coincidence. I donated my DNA to mrs @HCP so this forum can flourish with my greatness in 18 years.
But the draft is supposedly stronger this year. 28th pick this year might be better than the 26th next year.
We should change Meyer's name to 2018 1st round pick. Send him to Cleveland and we keep the Cav's 2017 & 2018 picks.
By any measure, if you want to get better sooner, having the draft pick as an asset sooner is the way to go.
