    Agreed.

but on the other hand - i remember saying similar things to people who thought Dame is going to be as good as D.Rose or Russ when he was drafted.

I don’t know how anyone can’t be excited about this kid.

I can understand the worry about the dynamics around the Dame situation, the need for more talent now if we want to compete, etc. I can appreciate that.

But Scoot is going to be a solid player in this league and has a high ceiling. And if we can’t add talent quickly to be a solid player team, we’ll at least we’ll be fun as hell to watch with Scoot and Shaedon and there’s a lot of potential for the future.

But here’s hoping we can find a couple pieces to at least make us competitive now while developing a bright future.

Stats are not base of one game it's base on all his games played.

As is, Woj isn't wrong. Now that we're past the draft, I think it comes down to basically:
    1. Can we bring in a solid piece for Ant?
    2. Can we add another solid piece with the MLE?
    3. Can we set ourselves up through the above 2, plus next offseason's draft and FA to be legit title contenders the following season?

I think if you can check those boxes, you'd be able to get Dame to stay (purely my opinion...)

PG - Scoot (Shared with Dame but more time with the ball in his hands)
    SG - Dame
    SF - Sharpe
    PF - Grant
    C - Turner

    Denver - the Champs
    Phoenix - more talent
    Memphis - more talent
    Sac - on the rise
    Lakers - old talent
OKC - on the way up
    G-St - still a handful
    Spurs - added Wemby

Dallas - Luka but what else?
    Utah - young talent
    Min - ugh

Just not sure where Portland is in the bottom half. No matter where it is, it's not likely to be high enough to be a contender.

I know he's not a PG but Tyreke Evans (for some reason) is who I have as Scoot's floor. Allen iverson ceiling

And you can't compare stats from the Ignite to college or anything else. It's a developmental team. They don't care about wins. There is no playoffs for them. They play in a lot of exhibitions. The guy rises to the occasion. Scoot told Krysten Peek said that Scoot told her that he was bored with the Ignite and he really wanted to finally make the jump to the NBA. I think the guy showed what he could do, he knew he wasn't going to go #1 and he checked out. This isn't like going to a D1 school and playing to make the tournament. Wins and losses don't mean anything.

People are excited yes and me too, but it’s ridiculous to say this a championship foundation, let’s see some flashes of it at-least or a season or two under his belt.

plus I know who made this thread so I know what he is trying to do in this forum. You will get a like from him when you agree with exactly with what he says lol.

If Dame decides to leave I want to keep Ant (unless a no brainer trade comes along). Having shooters around Scoot will be critical for spacing and teams know they can’t leave Ant open. I think a 3 guard rotation with Ant as 6th man would be a great rotation

I agree with that. Stats always need context

for instance, since I think a player's ability to get to the FT line is actually more important than being a pure shooter (it's a primary reason why Dame is at least a couple of tiers above CJ & Ant), it's really important to remember the g-league rule about FT's. Scoot's FT rate in g-league was .205. That's not impressive. Except...the g-league only awards one FT instead of two. Meaning Scoot's FT rate, adjusted to NBA rules, would be .410. Now that's impressive, especially for a 19 year old who likely hasn't learned all the ways to fish for whistles like a lot of NBA players do; like Dame does

I know a lot of people are really wanting Dame traded; and he may very well ask to be traded. But having Dame around to mentor Scoot, and Shaedon for that matter, can be critical for their development. Recognizing the nuances of getting to the FT line is an area Dame can mentor those guys

Definitely an interesting way to look at the parity in the conference...
The Champs are the champs, but they're also built around 2 chronically injured dudes and the self-proclaimed "Fat Euro Kid"
Phx will be fascinating to watch. 3 guys who like handling the ball and a big who needs attention to stay engaged. There's only one ball, could see that imploding or being all-time...
Sac -- feels like we're comparative to?
    Lakers -- powder keg
OKC -- lots of fun pieces, can they gel?
GSt. -- Klay's lost a step, CP3 integration will be interesting with polar opposite play styles, who's playing down low?
Spurs -- year or two away

We're not the dream team by any stretch, but you can certainly see scenarios where a couple good moves and some luck could put us in competition for HCA in the first round...

Keeping Dame doesn't really concern me.... but I think Simons needs to go and it sure feels like we're going to get Wiz'd.

Will we see the return of Sell Low Joe?

Scoot has huge hands so power dunking over defenders is possible at his size. Scoot is not an ordinary "small" player or an ordinary 19-year-old.
Wish we could have Wheeler back as the radio guy because there's going to be a lot of "nasty" with Sharpe and Scoot.

"This is a 6'9" defender that is above the rim, but It Does Not Matter!"

Those are big exceptions. Tony Parker was Finals MVP too. In 2007. Tony won 3 other titles too though not MVP. Same with Curry. And more often than not, championship teams have an All Star PG.

Dwyane Wade is 6’4” and was Finals MVP in 2006 too.

It’s not just us. There are top scouts who watch everybody and have told us this guy is the real deal.
