He never played for them, decided to skip the NBA and go into coaching...in the east...he had eastern college coaching experience.....Hurd has west coast broadcasting experience for an Oregon college

    Change is always hard!

For a guy who watched all but 2-3 games each season - I thought M & M were doing a good job. Even with their personal traits, they called a good game.

I like the pairing of Calabro and Hurd. I was hoping for Brent Barry, personally. I had listened to them periodically on Pac12 network games. I will get used to them with time. But winning a Championship will cure all bad feelings!!!

I respect you as a poster on here, but we kinda went over this last season. You keep putting my man on blast. On a serious tip I'm curious what your viewing experience is to have that much of a strong opinion of how WRONG we are covering the games? League Pass and other regional teams broadcasts? Large network shows? Just wondering.
There is a crazy amount of hard work to put on a broadcast and I'd love to set up some sort of tour for you if you want to see what really goes on and how we put a show on for you guys to watch...... a lot goes into it.

While I don't share his level of grumpiness over it, I do find cutting to any camera view from the main one at mid-court during live action VERY annoying. It blows me right out of the flow of the game, and it usually takes me a second or two to re-acquire what's going on. It happens a lot more often on national broadcasts (or at least I notice it more often) than on Blazers Broadcasting. It's freaking awesome seeing replays that way, but not live action.

Have you ever tried to get a decent amount of Coors Light into a minibar refrigerator? You'd be lucky if you could get six pounders into one, and that won't even get you to the first TV timeout of the second quarter...

Understood. Just making it clear that EVERYBODY cuts low on a fast break! Just like in college football if there is a long bomb to the corner, that director cuts to that low nearside hand held camera EVERYTIME!

Yeah, I'm going to have to echo @riverman on this one. The only NBA tie Mike Rice had was that he was drafted--in the 8th round (Hurd might've been drafted too if we still had 8 rounds). Rice never played, coached, or broadcasted in the NBA prior to working for the Blazers. When he was selected (by the PBP guy with whom he was to work), he beat out a former Blazers assistant coach, a former NBA player, and a former NBA referee. His NBA pedigree was by far the lowest of the other options, but that was irrelevant because he was the guy Schonely wanted.

LP Broadband. Usually watch the Blazer broadcast. To be clear, I have absolutely 0 issues with your replays and edits-- been saying this every time. It's the random angles during live action and sudden cuts to players close up that make us miss live action that just bug the hell out of me. There's a lot of cool shit you guys can do, but don't mess with live action. Simplicity is better.

Only reason I get so pissed is multiple posters here have brought it up. Major national NBA dudes bring it up, and there is no change. Considering they axed Mike and Mike this year, it looks like the org wants to make changes. Just make the ones we're passionately asking for.

Might take you up on that tour this season-- let's see when. thanks!

What ties did Mike and Mike have before they came into the league and Portland?
