It seems like Olshey backing his ass, so nobody can say we don't have pieces to play defense. It's gonna go on Stotts
Time to start Powell, DJJ, RHJ, Roco, and Nurk! Who cares if we only score 90 points, at least our defense would be better!
I've said it once and I'll say it again... Olshey can't be allowed to scapegoat Stotts. It just can't happen. If Stotts is the problem then he obviously should have been fired after the NOLA sweep and therefore every season after that, that we didn't compete for a championship is on Olshey if Stotts was the problem. Stotts being here is on Olshey, so how can Olshey survive a Stotts firing at this point?
Holy shit!!! I was so excited that we actually finally get to see what it would have been like if we didn't trade him on draft night... and then I remembered his career.
Give Olshey credit for the best waiver wire signing in the league. The other 29 teams having been trying to sign him to big money for the last 5 months, but Olshey was able to sweet talk him into waiting and giving us a major discount! Aldridge, Drummond, Griffin, Teague, Dieng... we didn't want those bums anyway!
Well, it obviously looks like his backup plan. But it seems no matter how much D you give Stotts, he's gonna find a way not to play D anyways.
"could be a defensive-first player on the roster on a team that badly needs it." Would Terry put him to S5 straight away?
Great move. We werent going to bringing in an all star. This is a situational move to help us when we go up against bigger sf’s like bron, kd, etc. he will be able to lock down on those guys in end of game situations where we need to shut other teams down, when we need to hold onto a lead to close it out. Stotts now has many many options. I hope he is running as much practice drills as possible to get some synergy with all the new player roles. Im not sold on powell being the starter at the three. Just too small and it showed last night against a bigger team. I though for sure either dj or little would start, to try to give more size and body banging against Giannis, so he didn't get into a rhythm easily and early. its all on Stotts now as he has a ton of versatility and situational switchability. Up to Stotts to make the right moves/calls. i hope he pulls his head out of his ass.
I bet he will if he stays the rest of the season, but it will come at the expense of Nas, and not the guy it should..Melo.
