Well, that seals the deal. GREAT trade. When was the last time Dwight Jaynes was right about anything?

I thought it was already decided that if he had a bad game he'd be "Awful-O"

I thought we gave up a second round pick too but I guess not.

Afflalo sounds a lot like Aflac, so I'm betting Rice gets it confused with that...or maybe just calls him "The Duck".

I think Rice would be safe to go with :A Lo...as Jennifer Lopez went with J Lo

I'm really anxious to see the players response to the trade.

And, he did it all without giving up any of our starters/core players. He started with the worst bench in the entire history of the NBA and turned that into a great combination of quality veterans and promising young prospects.

We hold the Bird Rights to all of our important players and have cap flexibility going forward. He completely controls who he chooses to resign and who he decides to trade/let walk.

Don't forget that he also added a legit center to our roster in Robin Lopez in exchange for peanuts. FAMS!

The biggest part of this is that the offensive system doesn't change if you do a hockey substitution and shuttle in five bench guys. You can/should play 10 guys a game and rest your starters.

If only we could get Brook Lopez too. :ghoti:

How many people thought Meyers Leonard would make TRob expendable? Miracles happen! We don't have a bad player on the roster now but who wears the suit? Crabbe? Gee?

I'm sure Lillard would get over it when Olshey trades Leonard for Brook Lopez.

Looks like Woj was wrong about the 2nd rounder.

    Olshey quotes:
Arron is a proven winner with playoff experience who will be easily integrated into our culture,” said Olshey. “He possesses a skill set that compliments our style of play on both ends of the floor and will make an immediate impact as we continue our playoff push. Alonzo is an elite athlete and defender who adds a unique element to our perimeter.
“We thank Thomas, Will and Victor for their contributions to the team and wish them all the best for the future.”

Uh, Neil when he picked up Leonard's option and declined Truck's? ;)

I feel bad for TRob because Denver is a team that has even less need for an athletic undersized power forward. He needs to go someplace like Philly.

I like the deal. It's been a shitty year for the Thuggets. Everyone on the team is unhappy. We were going to bring the Tiger Cubs to a practice, but Coach Shaw called and cancelled because there was too much cursing and discord during practice. Instead, they supplied us with lower level seats for the entire troop. That block availability tells you all you need to know about this team this year--no one wants to be there, not the players or the fans.

My point is that Afflalo will be happy going to a winner. The downside is he is going to have to sublimate his game. He's not used to coming off the bench, and he's going to have to find a way to be happy with it. That's tougher than one thinks when you're essentially in a contract year.
