Great trade by the Blazers. Shipping off the blowout crew for someone that can be relied upon to contribute on a regular basis is a huge win. We have been built around potential for so long, it's nice to see that we are finally back in contention mode.
You know after watching that video of the players reactions Wes said something that just kind of stuck with me. He said that the brass went and got a player (in Afflalo) that is battle tested in the playoffs and big games. This immediately made me think that even if Tayshun Prince isnt the best fit or needed player-wise his playoff experience could be huge. He has been to the NBA finals and that kind of experience and knowledge could be invaluable for this team. I hope he gets a buyout and is interested

One thing that Wes said that was key, was that he appreciated that management was willing to make this move for this season especially since LA was willing to push back his surgery because he felt that this season could be special. Having our free agents believe that management will do whatever it takes to win now, is a good thing going into this summer.
I read that Olshey went and talked to the players and ran a few names by them. I thought that was really interesting. I think it's cool that he gets the input of the players before making a major move. If it's a guy that they hate, it's best to know it before you bring them onto the team.
