The only thing I said about Nic's shooting was that 1.) He's a better career shooter than Gee and 2.) This season is likely an aberration. My only argument is that Gee has never good shooter, that his percentages this year are backed by an incredibly small sample size. Bad shooting or not Gee isn't taking any minutes away from Batum. Hell, he'll probably have trouble earning minutes over Wright. Yeah, Batum might lose some minutes to Afflalo (who is also above Gee in the depth chart, btw), but I'm not disagreeing with that. I don't even know what you're trying to spin my argument into. Then again, I have trouble following most of your posts.
smart move, never hirts to have some insurance and we improve the team Yeah, but what matters for "now" is this season and frankly it does not matter what Gee shoots as he won't get much burn, and Afflalos shooting will help a lot especially if Nic remains in this horrible shooting funk. ut Nic's shooting is hurting is, that cannot be denied.
Playing on losing teams and having off years will do that. I am not too concerned since we can put him in position to use his talents efficiently. As noted, we are not stuck with Nic toughing it out thru injury/shooting slump. I hate giving up a future first on a player that we could potentially only have for half a season. However, now is the time to try and win. Having AA's bird rights also gives us some insurance in case Wesley walks. Gee was a throw in that adds to our depth.
It's heavily influenced by how good the team is overall, so not really great comparing player to player imho. Do look at his DRtg versus the Team DRtg though to get a general "average, above average, below average" feel.
Anyway they can do the physicals in Utah so they don't have to fly to Portland and then back to Utah? I would like to see AA play tomorrow. May not happen without a practice......
Your brought up Batum saying the defense respected him more than Gee which I disagreed with. Please learn how to follow the discussion.
Holy crap, can you read? I'm not arguing for Batum over Afflalo. I'm not even saying Batum is having a good season. My initial response was just to curb some people's enthusiasm on Gee's 3PT% this year. If you're going to try and argue that Gee is a better shooter than Batum don't bring Afflalo into this conversation.
So left and right block and left 3 is his sweet spots. Watch how that gets even better since Aldridge plays right block the most and the swing out to Afflalo will be in rhythm
I said the defense respects him more than Gee. Gee. Gee. Not Afflalo, Gee. Your response referenced Afflalo, not Gee.
The servers are fine. All this traffic is using maybe 5% of the servers' capacity. I tuned the connection to the database server and that should fix any errors you're seeing.
Ya'll don't know how excited I am. I mean, we didnt give up anything we weren't going to lose at the end of the summer anyway, no rotation players, and a guy who has been in a suit for 80% of the games it seems. For a guy who is only a couple years removed from his career year and still has a lot to offer. This is AWESOME!!!!
We saw how hard it was for Dame when Aldridge was out. Now if we can stay healthy from here on out, the Afflalo deal maybe the best thing that happened to us
it should be a real shot in the arm, another solid shooter/scorer with experience, lots of different lineup possibilities
I guess I feel like giving up 4 guys is too much for Afflalo. Sure, TRob and Will didn't fit our team, and are probably better off on a bad team where they can show off their individual skills. But I would have liked to keep Kersey and Claver. Smart, hardworking players. barfo
