We are certainly stocking up on Chauncy style switchable guys.

Given that you must have scoring (Dame, Ant) - this means there is just one player that sticks out and does not fit.

    Young “talent”

    Simons
    Sharpe
    Little
    Reddish
    Thybulle

Not a 1 year fix, so Joe is adding tradable assets for this summer……or setting us up for life without Dame of Dame so chooses

Tough spot to be in for Joe, who has done well

I love this pick-up! Athletic wing who can guard the perimeter and down low. Also been talked about in certain DPOY conversations in the past. Great move IMO.

Maybe the plan for the 5 spot is to play Nurk only about 12 minutes a night against most lineups and give most of the minutes to Drew and Trendon except when we're going up against another immobile big, in which case we give Nurk a bunch of minutes.

Or maybe we're not done... still a couple of hours.

I’d rather we have got McDaniels than Thybulle

Time to dump GP2. We do not need both and Thybule is much longer

But a defensive unit with Grant, Thybule and GP2 is an excellent option for certain situations.

The Woj text was unclear. Are we supplying all the second round picks in this trade?

2029 is from us; 2024 from NYK supposedly

The Sixers did an excellent job defensively with Embiid in drop-coverage and MT on the perimeter. This would work with Nurk as well, if Chauncy is willing to adjust his defense when Nurk is in the game.

I don't know... I've seen Lillard/Ant/GP2/Hart/Grant work well this year. Plug Thybule or Reddish in there and that's one fast/athletic team to contend with on both sides of the ball... just my 2 cents.

Yep... you could probably only play that lineup in strictly defense end-of-game scenario, but assuming we have a timeout at the end of game to sub our offensive guys back in... there would really be no need to see Dame or Ant in the game in a last second defensive possession.

GP2 and that Knicks pick for Mo Bamba and then watch Nurk lose his fucking mind for the rest of the season?

If we are only supplying 1 second and Svi (who I would have wanted to waive anyway), this is a nice gamble on Matisse.

Edit: or is that 2024 Knicks pick from us too? Or is it a previously unknown add from the Hart trade, and we are just tying it all together? I'm confused... I'll be patient.

Yeah it's weird, seems like Chauncey has been more comfortable dropping Drew this year than Nurk.

Nurk is not the same dude around the rim for sure, but that is an odd choice to me

Agree. Can't have enough switchable perimeter defenders in the defense the Blazers are playing - and the Blazers now have 2 elite perimeter defenders.
