what's funny about that is Kanter probably has 70 pounds on Dame and yet, Kanter has to shift his shot motion to lots of leg leverage just to get the ball near the basket. Meanwhile Dame's shot mechanics seem pretty normal and he's hitting the mark

Wasn't ever a problem for Hakeem...

Why don't we just stop bringing up people's faith? Did you ever talk about Ramadan when it came to Aminu?

Didn't Aminu historically step his game up in the playoffs?

Did folks talk about Ramadan then?

Do we know that he strictly obeyed the no water part of observing Ramadan like Kanter does? As I said above, to me, that's the only cause for concern as far as an athlete's performance goes.

Talking about people's faith being a concern for their level of play.

I'm talking about their hydration being a concern, not their faith. As I understand it, Ramadan fasting doesn't allow for drinking water until after sunset. That's not a problem for night games, but it can be for the daytime games that often occur on weekends. NBA athletes sweat pretty profusely during a game. That's ALL I'm saying.

Did you ever say this about Aminu?
Hakeem won two championships while fasting. Kanter was BEASTIN' Jokic and the only thing that was holding him back was his shoulder.

I don't recall Aminu ever making his faith practices public. It only came to my attention when Kanter went public with his fasting regimen when he first joined the Blazers. My question about the way guys fast is legitimate. I don't know if all Muslims practice their fasting the same way.

Then try learning? Aminu most certainly did say he was Muslim and most certainly did practice Ramadan.

Try learning? Try reading. I am well aware that Aminu and Nurk are Muslim. My QUESTION is whether all Muslims are as stringent about not drinking water before sunset. If you don't know the answer to that QUESTION, fine. I've done some searches since I asked it and I can't find anything on it.

Christians play games on Sunday when they're not supposed to work on the Sabbath... We're not questioning whether or not they'll miss games because of their faith...

So, apparently you don't know the answer to my question.

I think ALL faith is wacko and absurd, BUT even I don't care that Kanter fasts for Ramadan.

Can't stand this topic and it's always the same guy bringing it up. It can legitimately be argued that the fast increases focus and they play better.

Excuse me? I've never brought this topic up before this thread. My question is simply that. Something I don't know the answer to. It would seem to me that maintaining hydration would be pretty important to an athlete's performance and health. I have no issue with not eating and no issue with his faith.

um: This was last year in a despicable thread where you brought it up first when it had not been mentioned prior.

Okay, I'd forgotten that one line. I didn't explain myself then, but it's the same issue. I don't know how an athlete can play without water. If you want to make me out to be someone who is a Muslim-hater, I can't stop you. It's not true, but this is the internet where people get to make up their own truth.

Nah, no need. It's just funny you are the only one who seems to care about this topic.
