Well, we went toe to toe with the best team in the league and held our own. Even had a shot at winning it. We all knew OT would be a death sentence. Let's hope the guys hold a little animosity in their hearts from this game and carry it into our match up with the Knicks.
Aldridge played out of his mind. If there was any indication that he could be a 1st option, it was this one. We really need that second scorer though. Preferably a wing that can get his own shot.
At least they Heat had to have huge games from LeBron and Wade to beat a Portland team with as many injuries as they do.
That last turnover by LMA just made me laugh. We wouldn't have won the way Lebron was shooting anyway but damn we gave it a shot. Had a few chances to win it but the Heat played red hot and we made a few mistakes at the end. Gotta polish our end game up a bit but goddamn we gave them one hell of a run when they were shooting like that with two players who played like MVP's that game.
LaMarcus absolutely ate Bosh for dinner tonight. But no moral victories. Lebron made me like him a little less after his antics tonight.
To Wade and Lebron's credit they've been there done that so many times that end of game clutch type situations almost seem like second nature to them. LMA being asked to carry a team in the clutch is kind of a new phenomena ... and frankly there's a reason Wade and Lebron are in the top five of the NBA in terms of talent.
The crowd gave him shit all night and he got the final laugh and he rubbed it in. I don't see the big deal, it's entertainment. This type of stuff is legendary in NY with Reggie and Knick fans.
I think this is the continuing maturation of LaMarcus here. I keep waiting for the game where he reverts back to the jump shooting, low rebound # getting softy, and he hasn't. He's aggressive and consistent, and being the player the team needs him to be. Tonight wasn't lost because of LaMarcus, but because of poor execution late in regulation. Why Andre was even IN the game late is beyond me, or at least why he was an option. Nate shouldn't put Andre in a situation where he has to hit a long jumper to win the game.
