I think I understand now why the Blazers do that goggles/three thing; it is such a rare occurrence when they make one that it is worthy of celebration. Every time an announcer says "That is one Rudy usually makes", I cringe. How far back was it that he usually made those, two years?
The way they shot tonight, I think it's a call for help, as is, "Hey god dammit, we can't see shit, can someone please get us some fucking glasses for christ's sake?" BNM
Huh? Two posts in a row where you've made no sense. You're reaching the point where I just scroll over your post when I see your name. I don't waste my time on pointless things.
You chose to bash the one guy on this team that comes to play EVERY night - who was also the ONLY Blazer who shot the ball well tonight. Was Miller the only one to play poor defense? Last I checked, he held Felton to below his season scoring average. Turiaf scored 15 points above his season average. How come you aren't blasting Aldridge and Camby for their defense on Turiaf? I find your personal vendetta against Andre Miller tired, tedious, classless, offensive and misguided. With all the injury problems this team has had over the past few seasons, I have a serious problem with any so-called Blazers fan who constantly disrespects the most durable, by far, player on this team. Miller has played over 32,000 minutes of NBA basketball. Yet, on a team that leads the league in knee surgeries, he's the guy that shows up night after night after night, laces up his shoes, steps on the court and does whatever he can to help this team win. He may not be perfect, but at least he's in the games doing his best. He deserves better than the nightly bashings he gets here in this forum from one or two disrespectful "fans". You bashed him for his poor shooting and "calling his own number" too many times when he went 5/8 in the Houston game and kept the Blazers in the game when his teammates couldn't hit shit. Now, tonight, he shoots 7/11 while Matthews is 2/13, Batum 5/13, Mills 3/9 and Camby 0/6. Was Miller's defense bad? No worse than anyone else's was tonight. At least he played well on offense. But, your blind hatred caused you to go after Miller when so many others were way more deserving of criticism for the way they played tonight - on both ends of the court. BNM
Good. Then stop responding to them. Your blind hatred of all things Andre Miller has now put you in the same league as Mixum when it comes to posting pointless negativity in this forum. BNM
Even when it goes in 7 of 11 times while the rest of the team shoots 22 of 72. So, who's more cringe worthy? Miller at 7/11, Matthews at 2/13, Camby at 0/6, Batum at 5/13, Mills at 3/9, Cunningham at 0/3 or Rudy at 4/10? Miller shot 0.636 from the field tonight. Aldridge, at 8/18 (0.444) was the only other Blazer who shot above 40%. I don't give a shit what Miller's jumper looks like, as long as it goes in. Tonight was a night where I wish he would have called his own number more. After a while, it seemed pointless (literally) to continue passing to his teammates, only to have them miss badly, yet again. Wesley Matthews may have better shooting form, but trust me, there's nothing pretty about 2/13. Camby's jumper is even uglier looking than Miller's. Combine Camby's form with an 0/6 result and it's enough to frighten the women and children in attendance. BNM
Miller and Cho. Matthews too when he plays a bad game. You won't find many posts of his that don't bash at least the first two names I mentioned. Anybody else can do no wrong. But, if we lose, its got to be Andre's fault and Cho was guilty of being the worst GM ever within his first day at the job.
Who said that? I read the comment as being accurate in terms of Miller's usual terrible defense. Felton had 17 points/14 assists. Miller had 14 points/3 assists. Felton outplayed Miller.
Everybody got out played. Camby and Aldridge got out played by Amare and Turiaf. Matthews and Batum got out played by Fields and Chandler. Blaming the loss on one player, especially when that one player was the only one on the team who shot the ball well, is just fucking stupid. Turiaf scored 15 points above his average and Felton 1.4 points below his average, but it's Andre Miller's poor defense that's being singled out. Miller shot 7/11 (.636 FG%). Matthews was 2/13 (.154 FG%), Camby 0/6 (.000 FG%), Batum 5/13 (0.385 FG%), Mills 3/9 (.333 FG%). Anyone who tries to blame Miller for this loss either has an incredibly strong personal vendetta against the guy, or is a fucking idiot. Your choice. BNM
The same poster who tried to blame Miller for almost costing us the Houton game when Miller shot 5/8 and kept the team in the game when no one else could score. BNM
He bashed LMA when he scored 32 points in a game once. Whined about LMA "disappearing" again, then LMA put up 20 or so in the 4th quarter. Since LMA is playing at an All-Star level, it's tough to criticize him. Since Miller helped make Raymond Felton look like Chris Paul last night, it isn't really surprising that he is due for some criticism. A person who uses FG% as some sort of proof that the PG played well and doesn't deserve criticism either means that person has an inflated personal opinion of that player, or is a fucking idiot.
First, Raymond Felton did not look like Chris Paul last night. I was at the game, and I was also at the NOH game. So, I have a first hand basis for that comparison. Felton actually scored slightly BELOW his season average. I'm not claiming Miller played great, but he was not the problem last night. The rest of the team played like shit on both ends of the court. When Rony Turiaf, who came into the game averaging a whopping 4.0 PPG, drops 19 on you on 8/9 shooting, yet those guarding him are not criticized for their poor defense, I find it absolutely ridiculous to single out Miller for criticism. Turiaf (19 pts, 10 rebs, 3 ast, 3 stl and 2 blk) looked a lot more like Dwight Howard than Raymond Felton looked like Chris Paul. But, where is the criticism of our bigs? The only reason to single out Miller, when the rest of the team played a LOT worse, is if someone has an axe to grind. And yes, I have a problem with that. Miller has a PER of 19.0 and shows up to play every single night. Yet, certain posters constantly bash him. So, who is earning their paycheck more: Andre Miller: Games = 38 MP = 1227 PER = 19.0 TS% = .530 TRB% = 6.7 AST% = 37.4 STL% = 2.9 ORtg = 112 DRtg = 107 WS = 3.5 WS/48 = 0.135 Salary = $7,269,264 Brandon Roy: Games = 26 MP = 813 PER = 15.1 TS% = .501 TRB% = 5.0 AST% = 16.2 STL% = 1.7 ORtg = 107 DRtg = 109 WS = 1.6 WS/48 = 0.092 Salary = $13,520,500 Miller is totally outperforming our "best" player, and he's actually playing. He also makes a lot less money and is on a much shorter contract. So yes, I think the constant bashing of Andre Miller is totally unfair and unjustified. He may not be perfect, but he's here, playing for our team and actually playing pretty well. Yet, he gets constant disrespect from some posters. That makes absolutely no sense to me. BNM
